I checked out the sifu, Jamie Robson - looks like a VERY knowledgeable and capable guy. And he's met Bob Breen! (this is amazing)
Oh man! Shaolin is the most awesome of all kung fu.
I hope it's a good teacher, because that would just be the bomb.
Awesome idea, I'll do it when I get back from work. And what style of kung fu is it? (don't worry if you don't know, I'm just curious...)
Hi queen_sheba - just popping up to say Hi and to let you know we've got a tiny Primal community going here in Oban. OK, there's about 3-4 of us and people fall on and off the wagon. Any time you're through this way, let me know and I'll show you where to get huge slabs of local pork belly for £4.50 a kilo ;)
hi! sorry to hear you have come from such a wonderful sunny place to damp, miserable scotland! Make sure you get plenty of thermals, the wind gets very chilly!
There are a couple of very good shops here (other than the farmers market) - one would be real foods (broughton street and lothian road) which sell pretty much anything you would need - although it was originally set up for the veggies...
I would say the community here is pretty non-existent. Haven't heard or seen of anyone else in Scotland and only a handful in the UK. Scottish food revolves around sandwiches, sausage rolles, pasta dishes, rice ...blah! You go into a supermarket looking for a salad, and their idea of a salad is a load of pasta in a sauce. aaarrghh!!
I hope you get nice sunny, rain free weather. The warmth I can't provide i'm afraid! :-) Makes you move faster though.
So far so good here. I've already done sprints on the beach near the golf courses; this place is fantastic. I was actually in Edinburgh for a few days at a friends place when I first moved here last week. Is there some decent primal shopping htere? I picked up a bunch of good meats from the farmers market this past weekend and there is a good butcher shop, produce shop, and health store in town, to my surprise. I'm originally from southern california so this is quite a transition for me (i dont think i've gone with less than 345 days of sunshine in my life). haha. How's the community out here?
great! St Andrews is amazing...you will love running across the beach and running about in the ruins. You may want to come to Edinburgh now and again for some specialised shopping primal stuff.
Where are you from originally?
So I saw in one of the forums that you live in Edinburgh! I just moved to St. Andrews where I'll be working towards a Masters degree and I thought that it would be nice to have a primal friend rather close!
