I am 56 and still have pain and damage due to a car accident in November of 2009. As a result, I gained a fair amount of weight, and more importantly, loss muscle mass. I've lost most of the weight, but there is only so far that I can work out without aggravating my damage (which may be permanent, but always working to get past it). So it is a challenge. As a therapeutic yoga teacher, I do have the advantage of knowing how to help myself and being able to maintain at least a baseline of health and core strength.
