Biography:

A visit to the doctor inspired me to be here. I woke up one morning, couldn't straighten my back and could barely walk, a week later, I was still having severe back pains. After a visit with an orthopedic specialist, I was pretty much told that the lifestyle (eating habits, lack of physical activity) I was leading was causing undo stress on my back and body & was also causing my body to age faster. I used to be very active, but after becoming pregnant and adding 60lbs to my 5'2 frame I lost self confidence in myself and decided to simply focus my energy on to taking care of my son. After neglecting my body for over 2 years, I had this man tell me today that if I didn't make a drastic change soon, I would end up a full blown diabetic and also would lose most functionality by 50....it was a huge wake up call for him to tell me this at age 25! Not so much for myself, but because I didn't want my son to have the burden of having to take care of his mother at only 50 years of age. So here I am, trying to gain the knowledge I need to change so that I can be a better mother for my son and be able to live a better life.
