I did a few searches and couldn't find what I'm looking for, but I apologize if this has been asked before.

For those of you that have purchased 1/4 or even 1/2 cow (or pig, etc.), whether online or locally, how much freezer space did all of the meat take up? I don't have a deep freezer, and I live in an apartment. I may be willing to buy a small deep/upright freezer, but I want to know what kind of volume we're talking here.

    Thanks for the input!

I found this ... One cubic foot of freezer space will hold approximately
30 lbs. to 32 lbs. of beef.

    Here ...

I live in an apartment. I got a 7.2 cubic freezer from Sears, and it'll hold about 275 lbs of meat. It's actually not overly-huge. I had it even in my tiny government-housing apartment. It's about the size of a small bookshelf.

I recently bought a 1/4 cow (164 lbs) and the meat fix in three beer boxes (you know, the case-o'-beer size boxes). With effort, we crammed the meat into three already-full freezers.
