  • Primal Shopping List

Just putting this out there before I tackle it myself. I was wondering if anyone has developed a Primal shopping list that the user could print out and take with them to the store. If you have one developed and can make it available, I would very much appreciate it!

I doubt that anyone could produce a generic shopping list. PB isn't very strict and everyone has different tastes.

My shopping list is mostly just meat and fat...

    The "Seven Deadly Sins"

    Grains (wheat/rice/oats etc) . . . . . Dairy (milk/yogurt/butter/cheese etc) . . . . . Nightshades (peppers/tomato/eggplant etc)
    Tubers (potato/arrowroot etc) . . . Modernly palatable (cashews/olives etc) . . . Refined foods (salt/sugars etc )
    Legumes (soy/beans/peas etc)

      Eggs

      Bacon

      Whatever veggies look good.

Almonds to munch on at work.

      Usually some fruit.

Restock any spices I may have run out of.

      A nice big steak.

      Chicken.

Pork or fish depending on my mood.

Oils that I may be out of (olive, coconut, etc)

This is just the weekly stuff. I'm sure there's other things I don't buy every week that I'm forgetting.

I rarely have time to get fancy with food or exploring too many new meals, so I usually go with a few standby's.

            Lots of eggs

            Bacon

Tons of frozen broccoli and broccoli mixes

            bags and bags of spinach

            apples

            almonds

            butter

            meat, meat, and more meat

            tomatoes

            avacados

whatever other fruits and veggies that look particularly good that week

                  Mine is usually:

Raw nuts (I usually do almonds and cashews)

Meat (ground beef, ground bison, pork and/or beef stir fry)

Avocados (I usually buy 6-8 per week)

Berries (mostly blackberries & strawberries since are cheap now)

                  Organic 505 salsa

                  Brown cage free eggs

                  Bacon (sugar free)

                  Broccoli & cauliflower

                  Baby Carrots

                  Organic coffee beans

                  unsweetened tea

organic tomato paste (for primal meatloaf)

                  bell peppers of various colors

                  jalapenos

                  natural pork sausage

                  gallons of drinking water

                  onions & tomoatoes

                  and although not entirely primal:

                  organic cream cheese

                  various other cheeses

I need to start eating more vegetables.

Thanks a lot for your insight as to what you buy specifically! This will definitely help when it comes to creating a document I can print off and take with me to the market!

Yeah, fruit in general is fine if you don't overdo it. Especially bananas are something to keep in moderation, but all in all, fruits are totally fine.

I'll head to the farmer's market and pick up

                            four dozen eggs

2 pounds beef liver, sometimes beef heart

                            2 big heads of cauliflower

                            a butternut squash

                            couple sweet potatoes

sometimes a half gallon of raw milk or some raw butter

                            Then to Trader Joe's for

                            big bag of organic greens

                            organic broccoli florets

                            2 12-oz packages bacon

                            Kerrygold irish pastured butter

                            some really dark chocolate

a few bags of organic frozen raspberries

a few bags of organic frozen green beans

                            macadamia nuts

some olive oil if I'm out

                            various greens/veggies for our rabbit

                            canned sardines

                            Whole Foods

free range chicken thighs, a couple pounds

maybe a whole chicken (usually buy in bulk and freeze)

turkey/chicken drumsticks, with some gizzards and livers (for the dog and cats)

                            ground bison (rarely)

                            ground lamb (rarely)

                            carrots

I actually don't buy a whole lot of meat from stores; I usually stock up when it's on sale or buy wholesale from a farm.

                              dark chocolate

diet pop (horrible stuff,i know. can't seem to give it up though)
