Read the abstract and then read the conclusion and you will see how openly we are lied to.

Angry? That's hilarious! That has to be the worst (and therefore funniest) case of author bias I have ever seen.

But... the... argh! The research shows that low-carb is the best, so they conclude that moderate-carb is "prudent"?? WHAT ARE THEY SMOKING??

        GOD, I hate bad research.

isnt there someone in the scientific community who vets this stuff?

everything that is mentioned there shows that low carb high fat is superior to moderate carb low fat.
is it possible that there is mode data in the actual study to point to his conclusion?

otherwise this is akin to saying " nono, see evergreen trees are pink"

Well the moderate carb diet may be prudent, compared to SAD or the control group. But, low carb is obviously better than prudent.

This makes me so angry too. I have actually been feeling almost depressed lately when I think of all the bullshit science that is being used to promote health "facts."

                Yup.

I'd be really curious to read the full text to see if there is any reason for the recommendation - has anyone found it? Normally I have access to journal articles since I'm at a university, but we don't seem to have a subscription to this one.

It's called peer review, and it's notoriously unreliable. As you can see from this article.

Spectacularly bad. Whole thing is nuts. Typical, but nuts.

The face-palming bear is adorable, BTW.

Well, I don't know how rigorous it's review process is. It's published by Informa Healthcare, not by one of the major boards/organizations. I'm not saying they publish just anything, I'm just saying ... I can't tell.

Not really. PubMed is just an archival site. They don't "vet" anything.
