I am with you on this one. I am normally a 4 or 5 and I thought I was in bad shape for not having 2'ss and 3's.

People say I am on a "crazy" diet. What is so crazy about eating veggies, fruits, seafood and organ meats? Just because I don't eat whole wheat and processed food doesn't make my diet "crazy". Maybe everyone else with a SAD are the "crazy" ones for putting that junk in their system.

Have type "4" Poo after 6 month's of going Primal just in the last 2 weeks- on the SAD diet going on the bowl was like sitting for a boxing match....However what about our gut- is there junk inside our intestines that get clogged over the years feeding it the SAD diet?? Does eating primally get rid of the junk in the gut? Or do we get it "professionally cleaned like going to the dentist?" What say you-fellow blueprinters.....

        Color variations of feces
        [edit] Yellow
Yellowing of feces can be caused by an infection known as Giardiasis, which derives its name from Giardia, an anaerobic flagellated protozoan parasite that can cause severe and communicable yellow diarrhea. Another cause of yellowing is a condition known as Gilbert's Syndrome. This condition is characterized by jaundice and hyperbilirubinemia when too much bilirubin is present in the circulating blood.

        [edit] Black
Feces can be black due to the presence of red blood cells that have been in the intestines long enough to be broken down by digestive enzymes. This is known as melena, and is typically due to bleeding in the upper digestive tract, such as from a bleeding peptic ulcer. The same color change (albeit harmless) can be observed after consuming foods that contain substantial proportion of animal bloods, such as Black pudding or Tiết canh. The black color is caused by oxidation of the iron in the blood's hemoglobin. Black feces can also be caused by a number of medications, such as bismuth subsalicylate, and dietary iron supplements, or foods such as black liquorice, or blueberries.[3] Hematochezia is similarly the passage of feces that are bright red due to the presence of undigested blood, either from lower in the digestive tract, or from a more active source in the upper digestive tract. Alcoholism can also provoke abnormalities in the path of blood throughout the body, including the passing of red-black stool.

        [edit] Blue
Prussian blue, used in the treatment of radiation cesium and thallium poisoning, can turn the feces blue. Also, substantial consumption of products containing blue food dye (things such as blue koolaid or grape soda)[4]

        [edit] Silver
A tarnished-silver or aluminum paint-like stool color characteristically results when biliary obstruction of any type (white stool) combines with gastrointestinal bleeding from any source (black stool). It can also suggest a carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater, which will result in gastrointestinal bleeding and biliary obstruction, resulting in silver stool.[5]
Black poops can come from other sources too -- like eating a whole package of Oreos, or drinking massive amounts of red wine. Don't ask me how I know this.

Yeah but I don't think they're technically classified as a fiber, although they're pretty much the same thing? That is how a baby's gut flora gets established though.

A rather disgusting article to read, but yes it did have some good clear cut info that enlightened me.

New to this forum and to Primal (6 weeks). Just wanted to add that I had my hyst 5 years ago, cystocele and rectocele happened a year after the surgery, went onto HRT - estrogen only, and both 'celes are now gone! As for poop problems, time spent on the loo these days is minimal and not at all unpleasant.

I don't know which thread I got it from, but I bookmarked this gutsense.org place a while back. I went back, and I was amazed. Really good stuff on that website.

Coffee helps me poop. If I decide to eat junk and have trouble pooping but drink coffee then I am good to go... is this the case for anyone else?

                        Yep.

BTW,I read in a tech journal recently that one day soon we'll have computerized toilets that will analyze our poo and give us instant feedback on our health. No shit.

                          On CW I'm a type 3. on Primal I'm a type 4. If that's not a good indicator I don't know what is.

Btw...this is the grossest thread I've read in all my days.

Me too. I tried to give up coffee but it wasn't worth going without pooping for days. I get very anxious when I don't poop, which makes the situation even worse!

What...you don't like poop? That brown sticky stuff? Sometimes gooey like melted cheese and sometimes crusty like grilled cheese? Sometimes nutty like a snickers, sometimes red from beets, sometimes bits of corn? What's the big deal about warm, flowing, plopping poop?
