  • Easy labour

After a Primal pregnancy with lots of walking, squatting, and weights, I gave birth last week to a healthy baby girl, after a two-hour labour so fast and easy that we had no idea things were so far progressed until the head started coming down. I had intended to go into hospital (this was a vbac and my first actual labour) but by that time it was far too late to move, so I had her at home, more or less unassisted (an ambulance came but there really wasn't much for them to do!).

Birth story at The precipitous arrival of Zoe

I credit the Primal lifestyle for making me fit enough to have such an easy labour (and natal hypnotherapy for helping me stay calm and in control!).

Congrats! I had a similar experience with my second child, although we did make it to the hospital with 17 minutes to spare... enough time to get up to a room, break down the bed, and pull in the nearest midwife. It's amazing what the body is able to do!

Congratulations! I wasn't primal but I squatted through all my pregnancies and had super easy labors.

                      Enjoy your new little person!
