A couple of weeks ago she said 'You eat a lot of red meat and red meat has been proven to increase your risk of getting cancer'. At that time I was blissfully unaware of that CW fact... Lucky for me, this myth has been successfully debunked

Apart from our conversations where I do get a lot of funny CW moments, yesterday was another one, not to do with her: we still keep some corn flour that we bought in the fall and yesterday I saw what it actually read: 'Excellent for helping yourbody get rid of fat' Yeah, right...

Oh, and another CW moment, though I found it quite sad: I happened to comment on my food choices with a friend who's a type I diabetic. I mentioned I had baked a flour-free brownie from dark chocolate, hazelnuts, eggs and butter and she said: 'Oh, I can't have eggs and butter at my age' (she's in her early forties...)
Oh crap! I didn't know there was time limit!

    • Newbie here...long time lurker, first time poster. Have been primal for 8 weeks and loving it! I am slowly trying to convert my DH/kids....

My 2nd grade daughter had a speaker from Poison Control in her class yesterday.

She came home with the following coloring page....Some how I don't think this is what Poison Control had in mind as the "correct" answers!

Baby if you time travel back far enough you can avoid that work because the dust won't be there. You're too pretty to be working that hard.

                  • I was on vacation in Florida this week, visiting the boyfriends grandparents. When we got there they said they didn't go shopping because they didn't know what we liked and asked us what sorts of things they should get. I said I eat a lot of bacon had grandma stared at me like I was crazy. Litter ally stopped her in her tracks and told me that she loves bacon too but its not good for you so she doesn't eat it. Grandpa then said they were trying to eat healthy. Aside from their house being filled with sodas, processed cheese, chips, ice creams, plastic precooked meat (seriously, that's the most disgusting thing ever) and boxed/canned foods, they didnt eat much "healthy" stuff that I saw. Not even SAD healthy.
I asked for salad stuff and was brought home a bagged salad mix, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. Well, at least the mushrooms and tomatoes were good. I am so bloated and gassy, I feel awful. I can't wait to get back home and stuff the fridge with organic produce and meats. I'm seriously drooling right now thinking about it. I'm so meat starved that I inhailed a greasy burger. It was glorious.

Come to the edge she said.
                    No, I'll fall.
                    Come to the edge.
                    No, it's too high.
                    Come to the edge.
                    I came

                    • I just started noticing, but I love feeling great at work all the time compared to everyone else. Everyone has to combat the afternoon brain fog and sleepiness and I feel fine at 2. At 4 everybody feels restless and sometimes cranky because they all want to go home and eat dinner. I'm like, "whooo!! can't wait for my strength workout now!". One of my coworkers that I eat with always eats half her lunch at her desk at 11 because she can't wait until 12 to eat the entirety of it with me.... I think it would help her to leave out the sugar and granola from her yogurt....

                      • We went out to dinner last night to celebrate my out-of-town brother's 50th birthday at a local sports bar. Since going primal around the new year, I've been quite good, especially in the area of wheat. Well, last night I sinned mightily - strawberry daquiri, maple glazed sweet potatoes, and birthday cupcake. By the time I got home, I was miserable and spent the rest of the night in the bathroom. Lesson learned!! This morning I went to my folks' house for breakfast (I did behave myself!) with them and my brother. Since everyone was feeling poorly, the conversation naturally turned to food and diets. My mom mentioned that Italian food has been upsetting her lately. She said she thinks it's one of the spices, because the only other thing in the meal is the spaghetti noodles, "and it couldn't possible be that." So she's going to give up basil, thyme, marjoram, etc. and see if her stomach calms down!
I've mentioned cutting down on the wheat and carbs, but I'm not sure I can make much of an impact on 80+ years of CW.

                        • Straight unsweetened cranberry juice is hands down my favorite kind of juice. And has been since LOOOOONG before primal!

My favorite as well! I drink it whenever I feel a stuffy nose coming on, and the pressure is gone within 20 minutes. I have convinced my family to drink it, but they all refer to it as "liquid death." You should see the faces the little ones make!

Yes, <3 unsweetened cran juice. My favorite "soda" these days is seltzer water (or pellegrino if youre fancy) with a couple splashes of cran juice and fresh-squeezed lime or meyer lemon juice. Super refreshing.

                            • I don't know if this one counts as a funny CW moment or not, but the other day my Sweetie and I went out for Barbeque and the guy behind the meat counter asked us if we wanted lean or marbled meat. I said, "Marbled!" with great enthusiasm. Meat-guy said, "That's the fatty one, you know." me: "Yes, I want lots of fat. In fact, if you have a big chunk of fat lying around, I can skip the brisket and just gnaw on the fat."

He stared at me like he wasn't sure if I was a space alien, or his dream girl. And he cut me a chunk of gorgeous, fatty brisket. Nom!

Sweetie just laughed and ordered his brisket, "I'll have what she's having."

I know that look! I get it every time I go to the local specialty "meat store" and ask if they have any beef fat scraps so I can render the fat out. Hilarious! LOL
