  • It's never too late, you are never too old!

I started Primal in mid 2011 and my husband sort of went along. Over time he ate less and less SAD and more Primal. I think he started at the age of 65 at 240 pounds. He got on the scale today and he is at 203 at the age of 66. That is only seven pounds away from the weight he was at when he was in fighting trim in the Air Force 45 years ago and less than he was at when i met him at the age of 31. His blood pressure is stellar, his bloodwork is wonderful and he is off of statins. His arterial ultrasound showed that they are excellent in spite of a heart attack 8 years ago being caused by plaque buildup. No sign of it now. This was without exercising other than what you get walking around on a normal day.

I call that a success story!

Wow! How exciting that you will probably have him around a lot longer as a result of improved health. You must be delighted. I'd call that a success story too!

Honeybuns, that is great news. Congratulations to you both and thanks for the encouragement.

how did you get him to come along on the primal journey with you? I'd love to know for the sake of my own dh. (He is 50).

I started slow with him. I talked him into changing out breakfast once in a while which soon became every other day. After a while, he looked at me and said "oatmeal is a really crappy breakfast". It has taken a while for him to give up all the crap food he loved and he still hasn't done it 100%. I told myself that I would never tell him what he could and couldn't have. If he wanted to eat cookies, I let him do it. The longer we eat the good stuff the more he is realizing that he feels yucky after eating stuff he hasn't been having in a while. I also stopped buying the junk he likes. If he wants it, he buys it.

                        Men love bacon!

Start slow and count the little victories.
