Both incredible transformations in such short time spans! Impressive.

Every time I check out this thread, I end up yelling "NO WAY!" or "INSANE!" or "WHAT??!!" or "GET OUT!" or "SHUT UP!" or "THAT'S CRAZY!"

Sounds like my wife when we talk about my eating plan, and not in a positive way. LOL

              • While your progress on the outside is commendable (it certainly is!), what's really great is your humble but fighting spirit that we hear in your voice. You inspire people that are in the path you trod, and the ones coming from the opposite (overweight) direction.

Remember that we all make ripples ... you have NO IDEA how many people you have impacted in a postitive light.

I salute you. Thank you and keep on keepin' on.

                    • a feels like an 8 lb difference in the course of a day with feelings of bloating is really quite normal. if someone weighs themselves in the morning, it's likely to be the lightest, and sometime mid day--assuming one's been relatively stagnant at work--is likely to be higher (including feelings of feeling bloated, etc), and then usually after exercise another water loss, and then a sort of evening out just before bed. Honestly, for me, it is actually about a 4 lb difference throughout the day!

also, common around the female cycle--right around fertility and around menses (for me, right before it starts). i consider this hormonal and appropriate--no real problem.

so, i wouldn't worry about the fluctuation itself, just the "feelings" you have around it--that you feel not-so-great about yourself at that time, but then at other times of the day you do. That's definiltey something to observe. I find that stress has a relationship with those feelings, so it might be interesting to check out in yourself.

You are doing great, Mal, really great.

                          • Wow. It took me a couple of days to skim through this thread, but it was worth it. This will be the place I go for inspiration when I need it. Well done everyone.

                            • I said I'd post pictures after Whole 30, so here we go.

Not earth shattering visual differences here, but I somehow managed to lose about 11-12 pounds in the last 30 days. Surprising as hell considering the massive meals I was putting away some days, but I guess the zero sweetener, zero dairy and zero alcohol helped. I also worked out less than usual, so... hmm. Anyway, the first one is my last pic posted in here at the end of July.

The second pic with 2 was taken this morning with me at 159.4 pounds (!!) I never thought I'd be in the 150's in a million years. I had to weigh myself a few times to make sure it wasn't a mistake. Pullup numbers are increasing, still feeling just as strong or stronger, so I wasn't expecting more than a 3-4 pound weight loss... crazy, considering the food I put away.

Also, just because I this one is freaking me out still:

I don't know how accurate these things are for body fat (I'm sure they're not great), but here's one from March for comparison:

It's almost like this stuff works.

BTW, that's enough fat loss for this year. That loud noise you just heard was me changing gears and putting it into MUSCLE GAIN mode. I think this is as far under 160 as I want to be.
