Corvidae, you're looking so great. I still remember your original set of progress pics, with the bikini pattern that kept getting less and less stretched out
Thanks buddy, it's amazing how that spare tire can creep up on you without you noticing !

      • Corvidae, That is an awesome side by side comparison.
My mind went right to a caption for the pics. "You think I was having a good time here? Look at me now!"

        • Okay... Feeling a little bit self-conscious about doing this as I am usually more of a lurker than a poster, but given that I hit my one-year Primalversary earlier this week it seems like a good time to share some pictures. Here goes - I hope the link works!

          http://i1367.photobucket.com/albums/...ps163bc819.jpg

As of this morning I'm 65.6kgs (144lbs), so 14.5kgs (32lbs) lighter than I was last summer. I also dug out my old body analysis printouts from our gym - they don't go a full 12 months back as I honestly didn't want to know what my BF% was to start with - and since October 2012 I have lost over 6% bodyfat. I'm at 22.4% at the moment, and would like to get down to about 18%. In terms of other stats - I'm 32 and 5'6''.

Aside from the numbers, I can honestly say I've never felt healthier, stronger or happier with my body. I sleep really well and although work stress still gets to me from time to time I feel more able to deal with it - I guess it's that happy Primal calm that other posters have mentioned :-)

          • The link works. I can hardly believe the change you had gone through! Was it "photoshopped" ??
The amount of visceral fat you have lost is quite outstanding. You have literally deflated!

            • Thanks dkJames nope not photoshopped at all

I am so glad I took pictures at the start - I hated seeing them at the time (and I don't love looking at them now - can't believe I let myself get like that) but it's been great to be able to compare, especially as my weight really hasn't changed that much since January and if I had been relying on the scale I would have been very frustrated!

              • Woww thats amazing how much you've lost, congratulation.
Why I don't seam to loose any waight and any belly fat?
I whish and hope that somebody can be of sopport for me.

Wow what a change! You look great! Seeing your pictures makes me want to take more pictures. I never feel like I'm changing, but when you do a comparison like that with them all together you can really see it.

Amazing the difference in just 32lbs! I wish I had thought to take that many pics, because it's glorious to look at.

Hi! I do barbell glute bridges now but I didn't before those photos were taken. Barbell glute bridges are amazing, I can tell already! That butt was just built from heavy squats, lunges (hate them but I do them) and leg press, really.
I added in deadlifts later on and they're definitely made a difference too (I was deadlifting before those photos).

This is my story. I wasn't sure the best way to put it here so I am inserting a link with my story and pictorial journey. I hope it will stir encouragement for those starting on this journey.....and for those entering the second half of a century....your goals are attainable.

I know I'm late to the party, and please excuse me for this, but to quote Trace Adkins, "you're one hot momma"!!
                            What a fantastic result.

I've just spent the last several days, pouring over this thread, reading the success stories, and checking out the before & after pics, and I have to say that I've seen some amazing results!

I'm currently nursing an old military injury to the knee, and a torn rotator cuff, so my workouts have not been what they were.
While I'm maintaining my weight with PB (thanks Mark), the gains in strength, size and definition I saw with crossfit are starting to wain

You are all an encouragement to me.
Thanks and again, Congrats to all!

                            • I haven't made much progress since I last posted, maybe some inches - but when I get down about how much journey is left, it is nice to be reminded of where I started. I am thankful that I don't feel like a 100 year old woman on her last leg anymore, near death's door. And even though really I am not quite half that age, now I only feel half of my true age (at least sometimes)

No Glamour Shot w/makeup or anything. I was just headed out to mow my yard and I liked my hat.

                              65lbs gone and counting!!

                              • I've been doing the primal thing for about two years now and figured I'd show some before, during and after shots.

Shortly after my wedding, shown in the first picture, I figured that things needed to change. A friend pointed me to Mark's Daily Apple and I decided to try it for a couple of weeks to see what happened. I don't have any no-shirt shots for "before". I guess I was too embarrassed.

Here I am at 255 lbs.

                                IMG_1359_zps4949aa12.jpg

15 months in, at about 205:

                                And today at about 180.

(I'll reply and add the side view.)

I had a DEXA scan done a couple of weeks ago, and my body fat is down to 19.5%. I've set a goal for myself of dropping 5 lbs more total and adding 3 lbs of muscle. The coach at my gym thinks I can do it in about 10 weeks. I've tightened up my diet for a bit (more carb restriction, eliminated dairy and all other cheats) and added some lifting to my regular boxing/cross-fit routine. I think I can pull it off!
