    • 70 pounds down in two years. It's been a rough road--undiagnosed high cortisol meant that I barely lost a pound for a year and a half of that. Since my diagnosis and getting the proper supplements and doing the proper exercise (yoga and dance rather than HIIT and sprints) I've lost 15 pounds since Thanksgiving.

OMG maybe this is my issue. What supplements did you take? Did your md diagnose? What else should I know?

I'm also curious about this. Why the decision to focus on dance and yoga?

Basically it's stuff that calms my mind as well as giving me exercise, and they both bring me joy. When I do traditional exercise, I kind of feel like a rat in a wheel. Plus, lower-impact exercises are better for cortisol.

You look amazing! And you look 20 years younger!

Can you tell what supplements you're taking? I'm taking 900 mgs of licorice root 2x a day and vita logic adrenal formula 2x a day too - haven't been diagnosed with anything, but I've read so much about cortisol and adrenal fatigue I thought I would give it a try. I'm also counting calories and have lost 10 lbs since January 2.

I would not take anything without getting some tests done. Both of those things can be measured in blood work.

it also leaches potassium from the body...some people can tolerate it, others (like myself) have issues. especially when the adrenals are fatigued there is a tendency for the kidneys to have issues balancing water and mineral salts in the body. this can be exacerbated if you are doing a lower carb diet. hopefully you are feeling well hydrated, drinking broth and making sure to get plenty of sea vegetables in the diet. just something to keep an eye on.
