    • Nice progression and deflation Mac! I actually like your look better now as your vascularity looks better. Your muscles may look bigger in 2004, but they look harder now. Your mid-section is also more natural looking without the bodybuilder stomach. I bet your clothes hang on you better now as well.

Well done Mac! Keep up the great work.

I have been eating primal/paleo steady since February of this year and before that (when I was bodybuilding) pretty much classic bodybuilder life. I ate every two and a half hours (my watch was set to beep!) even waking up in the middle of the night to down a protein shake. Lots of egg whites, oatmeal, rice, chicken breasts, tuna, and avoided fat like the plague.

Tips? Hmm...let's see. Consistency is number one. Working out for two weeks and then taking a week off and then back at it for a week and then off for a week is going to get you nowhere - fast. That's about all I can offer, really. There are two million ways to train and everyone seems to get results so I won't talk about training in any great deal, but for me I have always trained with Max-OT and still do. The best training program is the one you can stick to and I really enjoy the short, intense sessions of Max-OT which is why I do it. I tried the 8-12 rep high volume thing for a couple of weeks and couldn't stand it. Some people will tell you to change programs all the time, but for me I don't see the point. I enjoy my workouts which keeps me doing them. Injuries have prevented me from doing certain exercises, but that is really no big deal as I can still do all the important, compound exercises that allow me to use maximum weight.

Thanks for taking your time to share your pictures and story Mac. Very inspirational. There are so many ways to achieve your goals, but if there is a couple of things to remember it is that it takes time and dedication. There is never an easy solution or quick fix (well, almost never).

            • hopefully I have figured out how to upload my photos correctly. the first was taken in bangkok in august 2009, the second was taken in noosa 2 weeks ago (may 2010) I started semi primal around mid march. I cheat quite a bit I have to say but have mostly taken on board not eating grains, so bread, rice, pasta have pretty much been ditched and I have started exercising twice a week. It wasnt until I looked at this photo today that I can really see the improvements, it makes me really happy!

I keep a totally separate savings account or it would all just get frittered away!!! (and I have a partner who loves travel, as long as he takes me to sunny climes I'm a very happy girl!) More travel has led to more bikini time, which has led to primal blueprint! :-)

                              • This thread is awesome! So many wonderful photos and tranformations to use for motivation. I don't have a shocking before and after series because I have always been "fit/thin", but I do have these photos to show my transformation from a skinny/bloated vegetarian who trained too much, to a healthy primal guy who hardly trains and is much healthier...

                                Veggie Days (2006 or so)

When I did way too much cardio (15-20 hours of training a week (cardio, strength & yoga) and constantly eating (3500+ calories a day)

                                May 20, 2010:

My belt. May 2010 - Notice the 2 added notches at the top. Back in the vegetarian days I used the notch on the bottom because of so much bloating/higher body fat around the waist. I had to add another notch today, because of decreased bodyfat and no bloating!
