  • I think of these as more "before and during" than "before and after". But I've lost 60 lbs so far so I figured I'd show pics!

Here's the original pre-pregnancy weight, 240 lbs, March 2010. I wish I had one standing up and without strategically-placed toddler, but you get the idea:

And here I am 2 weeks after having the baby, 200 lbs., at the turn of the year:

Here I am three months later (today), 180 lbs.:

Wow, I cut off more hair since then than I realized. Heheh.

Anyway, I still want to lose about 20 lbs. (I tend to get a lot of muscle compared to most women, and as a result at my buffest I'm usually in the 150 to 165 range. If I do get thinner after that, that's fine, but I'm not hungry for it.)

    Thanks for looking.

            The progress pics help,
but i know there must be a disconnect in my head when I'm putting on clothes,

Yeah, I got picked up by Patrick for being too exclusive in this comment. I guess I was buying into this stereotype...

It looks like you are standing up so much straighter, too! Wow, how inspirational! Thanks so much for sharing your progress pics, and congrats on 60 lbs released!!

                        • Jenny, you look fucking great! That progress is very visible, and you look a lot happier too. I'm tempted to link your post for my mom to check out. She's at this point where she doesn't think any changes will help "at this point," as though there's some kind of Point of No Return when it comes to health. Yet she mentions how unhappy she is with her weight (and my dad's) when we chat on the phone.

                          • Thank you everyone! I should note that did lose some of that weight WHILE pregnant -- I lose weight when pregnant in general, but last time I gained it all back and this time I didn't. I definitely attribute that to primal eating.

And I'm pretty proud of myself for continuing to lose weight after having the baby... while recovering from a c-section, no less. Presumably my stomach will start getting some structure back now that I'm exercising more, but I always had a big tummy even when I was a buff little kid, so I won't sweat it.

And Patrick, feel free to send your mom either a link or attach the pictures, whatever works. Also be sure to tell her I feel really good about this way of eating/living and health and weight improvements are both achievable (As you can see) and seems sustainable. I could definitely live this way forever, unlike every other diet I've tried (WW etc.)

I am a pretty happy person in general so I wouldn't say I'm happier now, but I'm certainly pleased and this makes all sorts of aspects of my life easier. Very important with an active toddler and new baby!

I always love this thread and I'm so glad I had something to post. I'll post another set of similar pics 20 pounds from now!
