    Well done! Great effort mate.

    • Some sad news as my Dad passed away this week. So I'm heading back up to Ontario Canada for the funeral. It'll be great to see all my brothers, sister and relatives whom I haven't seen since 2010. Bracing for the "What you don't eat bread" or "come on a little desert won't hurt you" comments that I am sure are coming my way from a rather rotund group of relatives.

Condolences from a fellow Canuck, lost a favorite Uncle to cancer recently.

        Tough sledding.

I understand the food comment as well.

Went to a function the other night at a Greek restaurant that our family has patronized for years and ordered beef souvlaki and Greek salad (which I did not even want to have for obvious reasons but ate regardless)...

"What no Pita/Potato's/Rice/Hummus et cetera" - was all I heard the entire evening.

        Sigh.

Thanks for the condolences onthepath. Going to a restaurant is one thing, attending a family get together where people put their hearts into preparing a "good" meal is particularily tough.

              • Condolences from me also. Losing a parent is very tough. Hopefully your Dad had a long and healthy life.

Food -- Just smile and say that you are a Primal/Paleo kind of guy, and say no thanks to all the bad stuff. If they bother to check you out, they'll know that you are doing something right.

Sorry to hear of your loss and understand how you must feel as I lost my Dad 30 years ago.

However, I couldn't resist a bit of dry wit.

I'm researching Spalding Grammar School old boys who dies in WW1. Two of them had gone to Canada. 15th Infantry Battalion even had record cards on line for free. That took care of one, and, the other we knew about as he had died on the operating table trying to get a physical defect rectified so he could go to war in Europe.

                    • Flying back to California this morning. A big thanks and much love to all my Canadian family and friends! Funerals can be heart wrenching but they also provide an opportunity to reconnect with a wonderful family, I am so blessed - Will miss you all until we meet again.

Managed to stay Primal for the whole trip, although the foods weren't organic or pastured, they were delivered with love and that matters a lot.

I only get to see cousins, aunts & uncles at weddings and funerals and due to my age, usually funerals.

                        • hello,
I jog a half mile over to a park and do a variety of pull ups and chin ups, sit ups and push ups in a circuit format 4 sets and then jog home - all body weight exercises.
I am really amazed by the accuracy of the pedometer function, it counts my steps correctly even when I hold my iPhone in my hand, none of the other apps can do. One extra benefit that I found is creating and sharing my travel with my friends - I just save the map with my route into my iPhone, and post it along with photos onto my Facebook and Twitter account.

                            • One of the great things about working from my home office here in Northern California is being able to take a half hour break and get my daily Vitamin D bath in the sun while walking around the back yard garden eating freshly picked black berries and nectarines - sweet, juicy and warm from the sun.
