  • This is really encouraging to see anybody over 50 that is successful at this lifestyle. When I read about 24 year olds being successful, I think to myself.... well I think "things" to myself!

Ha Ha....You know I really believe embracing a Primal approach to life has a far greater impact on those over 50. I have many friends in this age group that have radically improved their health and overcome diseases through the Primal diet.

      • Hi Everyone...An exciting documentary movie called "Fed Up" directed by Stephanie Soechtig and executive producers Katie Couric and Laurie David (fedupmovie.com) is a powerful movie about our diets. They don't say eat Paleo but that is what they are suggesting. Very exciting mainstreaming of most of the ideas we hold dear in the Paleo/Primal movement. Being released in theaters on May 9, 2014. This will be a real catalyst for change...Bank on it!

        Here's the trailer.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCUbvOwwfWM

        • No illnesses for two years since giving up wheat, rye, barley and oats. Now, two colds in a month. Looking on the bright side, I have been examination invigilating in a school so able to share my gift with others.......

Thanks John. Feeling better but still eating the occasional Jakemans. FYI, Jakemans are made in Boston (the real one, not the renamed Trimountaine you have in the USA). They are called "chest and throat relievers" and very good for sore throats and colds. When I was a Bobby in Boston I would go to the factory outlet and buy their misshapen sweets at knockdown prices.

                  • More and more aspects of a Paleo/Primal diet are becoming part of mainstream nutrition recommendations....

                      • Wow, It's hard to believe that I've been doing this thread for over two years! Not sure how much longer I'll continue as I typically don't get much response, so I'm not sure if people are getting anything from it. However it's been a good process for me and I've enjoyed communicating with those who have taken the time to jump in with comments and feedback. I hope that those who have dropped by the thread have enjoyed it and gained some inspiration. Much thanks and best wishes on your Primal Journey!

                            • Agree with Knifegill, while I only post rarely, I read regularly. Hey, not that many of us older guys out here. You do much more physically than I, I'm limited by my bad knee. I enjoy your stuff and the frequent interchanges with Nigel
The Buck stops here. I am responsible for my past and my future. So for today: I choose to be happy. I will seek wisdom. I will be a servant to others. I will greet this day with a forgiving spirit.

                              • I can only speak for myself, but to me you're one of the most inspirational people on here. Keep it up; there are way more people getting good information and inspiration from you than just the ones who reply.

I hope in 20 years or so you break some strength records in the 80 year old division, and then that I get the honor of challenging your records a few decades later...
