  • going to chinese for lunch...your thoughts?

I am going to lunch with coworkers today and we are going for chinese food.

From this menu, what would you suggest I get?

Thanks so much for your input! I am going in about 30 minutes!

    Lindsay,

I would go with a cup of Egg Drop or Hot and Sour soup, then either the Chef's Special salmon or crispy duck.

    Jealous....

So I have a question...the crispy duck is deep fried so that would be bad right? I was thinking that too but I called ahead and she said it was deep fried.

The link won't make it thru the web filter where I am (lock down! lol) but I like the "pick something from the menu" idea of this thread

by the things kuno1chi suggested, I am also jealous!

I have read in here that Egg Foo Yung is a reasonably primal choice at Chinese places.

They use pretty nasty oils and cornstarch in most prepared Chinese dishes, so they're definitely not primal even if you avoid the rice. However, I've not had a problem asking to get the food just steamed with sauce on the side. A little dab of garlic sauce goes a long way to adding plenty of flavor, I've found.

When I get Chinese food I have one thing I always eat- steamed shrimp with mixed veggies. That's if we're doing take-out, and I can put my own wheat-free tamari on it. Otherwise we go to a sit down buffet where you can put your own raw meat and veg on a plate, with sauce (or not) and have them cook it for you.
