• Advice on how to find a PB mate?

Our whole family has been doing the primal blueprint thing for the past year and a half, with excellent results. I'm asking advice for my son (26) and my daughter (24). They are now faced with the challenge of finding suitable mates who ideally are PBers also. Do you have any suggestions as to how and where they might find compatible mates? Added to the mix is that both son and daughter are highly successful, both have a net worth and income that puts them in the evil top 0.1%, and non-religious.

    Maybe a Crossfit gym?

I'd suggest crossfits also. They're a good social networking ground where everyone is equal. Money & religion wont help your Fran time.

Another thought to ponder is that some people aren't PBers not b/c they dont want to be but b/c they dont know. So date who ever sparks your fancy, fit minded people tend to be attracted to other fit minded people you know?

If during a date that person sneers when your kids abstain from the bread basket, screw 'em! Who needs that kind of negativity?!

Based on that information, I'll ask my wife and see if I can make myself available.

“It is a truism that almost any sect, cult, or religion will legislate its creeds into law if it acquires the political power to do so, and will follow it by suppressing opposition, subverting all education to seize early the minds of the young, and by killing, locking up, or driving underground all heretics.”

Uh, polygamy, polygyny, or polyandry is not what they are looking for . . .

          :-)

I'm totally available. A little busy for the next 10 months or so, but certainly willing to try a long-distance thing. ;-)

Totally agree. Good luck tinmittens, I hope your kids find their soul grok and grokette.

That is what I was afraid of.

No offense intended ... just adding a liitle jest to the thread. My apologies.

I'm certain they will find their matches when they are ready. Best wishes! Happy hunting!

Crossfit was a good suggestion... Joining places that primals love going (trails, mountains, parks, etc.) would be a safe bet. And have you seen people who do Crossfit?! All I've got to say is... HOT DAMN!!

I think we've answered the question about whether or not we are fanatics.

I never once thought about my girlfriend, future, fiance, and now my wife's diet as a determiner for a "mate".

It's not a determiner for me, but what my potential partner eats is important to me. Formerly weighing 250 lbs, health is very important to me, so I want to be with somebody who is as health conscious as I am. I do date people who eat foods I won't eat, but only within reason... and hopefully whoever I end up with will eventually adopt my eating patterns. Who knows.

But if you think about it, we rule out potential mates for a lot of reasons- whether or not they smoke or chew tobacco, do drugs, drink. How is what they eat any different?

SO true. Someone who smokes = dealbreaker for me, someone who is very religious or wants to raise children w/religion = dealbreaker for me, someone who leans toward socialism = dealbreaker for me, someone who doesn't care enough about their health to take care of themselves = dealbreaker for me (I want my husband to grow old WITH me).

I got pretty lucky when I found my guy.

But yeah, health-conscious, open-minded, and analytical people hang out in a lot of different places, and it shouldn't be impossible to find one of them... just because someone isn't ALREADY following the PB shouldn't be a dealbreaker. Like someone up there said, they may not know about it! But they may be eager to learn the way we all were...

Eating lots but still hungry? Eat more fat. Mid-day sluggishness? Eat more fat. Feeling depressed or irritable? Eat more fat. People think you've developed an eating disorder? Eat more fat... in front of them.

I'd say most in the dating pool do this..

But those examples are pretty opposite on the spectrum of complexity compared to PB'ing.

I couldn't imagine being on a first date or date #8 and saying "oh shit, she's eating white bread!"

Seems like it would be WAAAY down the list of things to square away..

                            Just sayin.

You can give your daughter my number. Haha.

Yeah I"m not making it a requirement that I date a primal person, although it'd definitely make things more convenient. I think in one of the other threads with a similar subject, Deana Renata said something about how meeting a person who isn't primal gives you a project to turn someone on to it.
