  • I can't even use being sick as an excuse to fall off the wagon, only as one to adhere even more to PB!

Two co-workers came in all week long with the drippy nose, sore throat, cough, general malaise kind of sick...and I didn't catch it. I wasn't feeling bad at all until yesterday morning when I woke up with the stuffed nose and acheys. Why did it have to wait until the freakin' weekend?

When I'm sick, I crave old comfort foods -- mac n cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken noodle soup -- and had to deny myself the grains (cause I knew they'd make my gut rebel) as well as lower the bit of dairy I usually do take in to reduce mucus density, by eating grilled meats and lots of fresh veggies and fruits.

I now feel fine -- more than well enough to go to work in the morning...sigh.
    Started 7/5/11 at 274 lbs
    Now 214 -- that's 60 lbs!
Goal 160 lbs -- last time there was in junior high!

But my shoes are too small due to wearing VFFs or going barefoot and having my feet spread out. My feet refuse to go back into "cute" high heels.

Plus I'm having to fend off endless advances from much younger men. I don't know how much longer I can manage.
Oh man, I can second the VFF problems. I work at UPS and they require us to have special all leather upper, non skid bottom shoes. I'm hoping to convince my boss to let me wear a pair of the leather VFFs. I usually cite my ankle injury as a reason I can't go back to the thick, dense, heavy boots, but in reality...they hurt and I can't feel the ground. I loose my balance easier with them. Weird!

Come to the edge she said.
      No, I'll fall.
      Come to the edge.
      No, it's too high.
      Come to the edge.
      I came
      She pushed
      And I flew

HA, like the scene in the Birdcage, where Hank Azaria is like, "Oh, I never wear shoes. They make me fall down" and then later does wonderful pratfalls to exactly that effect.

I gained 4 pounds when I started, watching my calories. Horray for low carb flu.

Now that my kids are not eating processed crap they expect to be fed real food 3 times a day - it is getting expensive...

My 4yr old eats all my vegetables and steak and pork and bacon...

My 2yr old eats all of my eggs and yogurt and nuts...

Since going primal both boys hit such a growth spurt they skipped over 2 sizes and now I have NO clothes that fit either one of them

The boys so much energy they wake up even earlier (so do I, but now they even beat me and my alarm!)

I am craving seafood - and I have never liked fish!
You will be ok. Just stick with it.

I found the only problem fat doesn't fix .

Time to either eat and cook shirtless or wear a bib.

                I hear bibs are in.

Well, if you soak the shirt in bacon fat or butter, the whole thing will be stained the same color, so it won't matter. :P

Thanks Josh - I have taken back off the 5lbs I gained and besides the sinus infection I have right now I really do feel tons better. I know eventually this will work, I just have to stick with it.

I am sort of amazed that I do not crave bread or pasta in the least. I crave fruit, but I am keep VLC right now (for January) and will add my fruit back in next month

I'm not weight training/exercising yet. That starts today, actually.
I've lost six pounds in the first week or so.
I pretty much stuck to the diet 100% every day so far...no cheats at all.
I already had my BM for today.
Yesterday was 242.6, today was 244.
I did eat some rather salty jerky right before bed last night.
I had a small glass of whole/full fat milk last night as well. (maybe 4 oz)
I imagine you've lost some since posting this- but if it helps- I lost 12# the first week and gained back 6# the second. As long as the overall trend is down, fluctuations shouldn't be an issue, and your overall trend is definitly down!

I cook bacon shirtless, every day.

In b4 (watchout looks like we are dealing with a badass over here.)

I do that on a regular basis. Improves your reaction/flinch reflex. When that doesn't work, you're working on general pain tolerence. (I tend to cook so much at a time that it's all but deep-frying by the end.)

Now if only I could get my wife to do this XD.

                                Sexist jokes aside.

Use butter to fry bacon, lowers the chance of it bouncing in your face etc.
