  • Ideas for cooking a butternut squash?

I am very bad at cooking and I'm not exactly sure what to do with a big butternut squash I bought.

Anyone has any ideas that won't involve good cooking skills?

    Oooh, my favourite vegetable!

I normally chop a piece of, peel it (with a knife), chop into smaller pieces and cook in the oven for about 40 min on a tray with some olive oil on it.

I cook it on a fairly high temperature. (Gas mark 6 or 7).

Its really sweet and has got an amazing flavour so I never feel the need to season it.

With any squash I just cut it in half, put it face down on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes. Scoop it out and put a big dollop of coconut butter on top...good stuff!

Along the same lines as everyone else...peel it, cut it into french fry size pieces, and cook it at 450 for about 20-25 minutes. These have long been my go-to when I want french fries. Tastes pretty close when eaten with no carb ketchup. But not as good as rutabaga fries. Yum.

Thanks a lot guys. Cutting, baking and scooping sounds pretty easy, so I'm all over it. Can't wait.

Butter and cinnamon are always yum on squash.
