  • My first compliment

I haven't lost a ton of weight yet. My clothing is slightly loose now, but not enough to really go down a size (though I definitely need a new bra ) When I look in the mirror, I look different to me, but I wasn't sure it I was imagining it because you know, I'm still quite fat (still pretty firmly in the obese category). But at the least, my stomach went down a lot, within days of cutting the grains, so there's that, but still.

But today at the library a librarian I hadn't seen in awhile told me I looked really good and she could tell I was losing weight. She was so impressed that as I started walking away she commented *again* about how you could really tell. She was so smiley and enthusiastic about it (she's usually not really upbeat) that I was grinning ear to ear as I left the library.

I am honestly in this for the health benefits but I have to say, as good as better digestion, lower blood pressure and general overall better energy is (NOT sneezing at all of that!), the vain part of me just really likes being told I look good

Congrats! Better start getting used to them.
If you are new to the PB - please ignore ALL of this stuff, until you've read the book, or at least and this (personal fave):

      Well done.

Nothing to be ashamed of. I totally do this to not be a fat slob.

Congrats and tfarny is right - get used to it. I had a guy flirt w/ me at the store the other day - and I must admit that while I should see it as a compliment, I quickly mentioned my toddler and hubby. I am also in the obese catagory but having lost 90 lbs, I guess I must be OK to atleast talk to now! Good for you - keep it up - it works!

              Hey that's great! Congratulations.

There's no shame in a little vanity and the boost in self-esteem will reinforce everything you're doing. I look forward to my first compliment.

              Congrats again.

Yaaay!! Congratulations! If you're getting skinnier wear some smaller clothes to show off your hot new bod!! I'm sure a lot of other people will notice too. Baggy clothes hides your body so it's harder to tell.
