  • Three triumphs for me this weekend -all silly girl things, but they made me happy:

    1. I went on a date tonight. I know - mundane everyday thing for most. But a year ago I was exhausted, in pain, and considered myself UNDATEABLE! Tonight I wore a super cute outfit of leggings and a sort-of sexy sweater dress and didn't have to try to cover up any of my body. I am pretty sure I actually looked kinda good..... I am pretty sure he thought so too

    2. I finally got up the nerve to pack up my bigger clothes. All the 10's, 12's and 14's (and one pair of size 16's I'm still in denial about) are packed up and stored away. All that remains are size 6, 4, and the occasional 2. I like these numbers much better

    3. I was shopping for a cute outfit for my date. When I went to pick out leggings I was trying to decide if the snobby sales woman helping me would roll her eyes if I said I wanted a medium instead of large - when I asked for the medium, she looked me up and down and said "you'll drown in the medium dear, you need a small"

It is almost unbelievable what a difference one year has made in my life.
Using low lectin/nightshade free primal to control autoimmune arthritis. (And lost 50 lbs along the way )

      • I can now fit into a vest top that my sister bought me for Christmas about 4 years ago but which I have never worn (it still had the label on!!). I absolutely love it, which is why I have kept it all this time and I am ridiculously pleased that I will be able to wear it (and feel good in it) for the first time when we go on holiday next week. :-D

        • Wooo!!! The last time I tried on these jeans, I could barely button them -- let alone walk/sit/do anything in them. Today, they fit PERFECTLY. And this is after only a week of eating primal. \o/

          • Jammies that's awesome! I hope I can say the same after a year! I would love to be a medium!

On Friday I got several several compliments-
A male former co-worker (whom I hadn't seen in months) came up behind me and whispered in my ear "damn you're a sexy bitch!"
One of my husband's friends called me "tiny"
My own mother said she didn't recognize me walking towards her, she said "because I looked so skinny"
A different former co-worker (whom I hadn't seen in years) said I looked great

It feels REALLY REALLY good. But, I'm still over 200lbs, imagine how sexy I'll be when I get in the 100's!

            • Isn't it funny how having confidence in yourself and how you look changes how people see you? I think it is great to get compliments like that!

Now, if only someone would whisper in my ear how sexy i am I would be thrilled.

              • Yesterday I fasted almost all day. I woke up, had a lot of stuff to do, wasnt hungry at the time, so I was like, "Well Ill just start getting to work and see how long I last before I get too hungry." I lasted till 5:30! I had a couple points during the day when I was a little hungry (mostly from seeing food for sale around town, food that I couldnt eat anyway :P) but it cleared up right away every time once I got distracted by something else. It wasnt till I got home and had a little unsweetened cranberry juice splashed in soda water that my body kicked over and was "NOW IS THE TIME FOR FOODS." I ate ceviche and half a roast chicken, it was awesome. ^_^

                  • I just posted my best fitness score in probably 7 or 8 years (of an 11-year career in the Army Reserve). I run less and enjoy my workouts more, while getting better results than I have since my initial training days. I am also feeling completely rehabilitated from my kneecap break 6.5 years ago.

I'm going to max that fitness text next spring.

That's awesome! I have been thinking that even though I separated from the Air Force 4 years ago I may have to give myself one of their fit tests soon to see how I make out!

                        • I just ate all the fatty parts of a pork shoulder roast with 3/4 of the carrots and onions that went with it and a hefty portion of roasted potatoes. It probably added up to about 4000 calories. I will be about 0.1lbs lighter by tomorrow (based on past experiences with roasts).

And yes, potatoes are primal. Plus I'm mostly Irish and it's fall.

                              • Not really my triumph, but when I went to Whole Foods to pick up coconut milk, there were only 4 cans left of the regular kind...but the shelf was overflowing of the lite version. Yay! People are learning! (on a side note...I took the last 4 cans of regular...tehe! ^^

                                edit:

Went again today, and there was only 1 can of regular left, and there were still the same amount of lites! Yay!!
