  • Halfway primal since the beginning of August. About 50/50. Got really serious 2 weeks ago, with only one slip and a quick recovery. I found out today that I have lost 14 pounds so far! What a great feeling!
My new blog! http://www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread37215.html Come see me!

    • My sister, God love her, baked some store bought cinnamon rolls, the kind that come in the round packge. I love cinnamon and she really tried to tempt me to eat just one.

Well I am really trying to dump the wheat and just got the book "Wheat Belly" to inspire me even further.

Did I eat any of those wonderful smelling cinnamon rolls? NOPE, not gonna, not now and not ever. And I am really going to try to keep to this. I feel like an addict.

      • I'm low carb (>50g daily) and I also fast daily. I'm a better runner than a workout-addict buddy of mine.
In all of the universe there is only one person with your exact charateristics. Just like there is only one person with everybody else's characteristics. Effectively, your uniqueness makes you pretty average.

                    • Work in a medical office where drug reps bring in occasional lunches... the person doing the scheduling of these lunches has been asking for less bread/pasta/sugary stuff (triumph #1) and today we had the most amazing 'salad bar' including chicken chunks, bleu cheese crumbles and (triumph #2) BACON!
                      Started 7/5/11 at 274 lbs
                      Now 214 -- that's 60 lbs!
Goal 160 lbs -- last time there was in junior high!

                      • So inspirational to read everybody's successes. I hope to be able to post some soon after I go 100% Primal! Can't wait to do the 40hr IF.

Although a small triumph of mine is to not hit a sugar low on weekend nights after practice and binge on the carby snacks that my landlady places around the house.

                        • Had to move the foot pegs in my kayak back. Either my legs have gotten shorter, or my derriere is smaller. In addition to that, my thighs no longer touch the edges of the cockpit. I was hoping to get faster since I'm pushing less weight and my kayak is not sitting so far down in the water, but so far I notice no improvement in speed.

                          • Not my triumph, sorta. An overweight friend of mine saw me posting about primal and asked for info. He was really into it and in about 2 months he said he's had to drill three new holes in his belt, he's dropping weight that fast!

                              • I lost over 12 inches in the last 30 days.... and I am not 100% and my activity level is pretty much zero.
If it wasn't happening to me, I don't know if I would believe someone can eat like this and still lose weight.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
