  • Last week at a training event I bumped into a friend I haven't seen in a few years. He asked, "Have you lost weight?"
    "Yeah, about 40 pounds."
"Well, you need to find it again!"

He was joking, but he was jealous.

    • Someone I haven't seen in a while told me I look 10 years younger.

I was truly more happy about that than her comment about my weight loss.

      • A few years back my brother had a rock climbing thing for his birthday. My butt sank to the ground when I tried to climb.
Half a week ago I got the second best time I've ever seen on a local wall. The first is my monkey sister's record. I was 2 seconds too slow.

This morning had me looking for a belt too! My jeans are so loose I broke the golden rule and got on the scales - minus 20 lbs. since the 2nd week in February - holy shit! I'm pretty much where I need to be weight-wise and I feel great, now I just need to get strong.

Damn, you don't suppose this crazy Primal stuff works, do you?

                  • I found my fucking swagger! I lost it in 7th grade. I have it back.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, steak in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Holy F***, What a Ride!"

                      • I'm losing my taste for some non-Primal foods!

I'm one of those who needs to ease into Primal, and that's in part because my husband and three kids think it's crazy. I'm trying to take care of myself while realising I can't change them. I decided to start with breakfast, as it's the real "fend for yourself" meal. I haven't had cereal all week. My 14 year old son is pretty thrilled about this, as one of his favourite things to do is cook eggs and have them appreciated.
I've noticed over the week that I can leave my chocolate tin alone more and more. (I do still love some dark chocolate)
Tonight, my son made kettle corn. I did eat two pieces but stoppped there! I made myself hot chocolate with almond milk, and after two sips gave it to my daughter.
These are pretty big things for me!

                        • New one!
When I was a kid I refused to eat any meat that looked like meat, my mum predicted when I was three that at some point I'd go vegetarian.. and she was proved right when I was 15. Gave it up about 2 months ago, but I'm still squeamish when it comes to meat, and I'm terrified to try proper bacon still... (It doesn't help that my quorn bacon smells nicer!) xD
                          BUT
                          Yesterday. I. Had. STEAK.
And it was amazing and my mum is overjoyed that now there's someone else in the house who enjoys it too xD
Apparently, I'm only squeamish over raw steak... it doesn't look so bad cooked! XD

                            • Yay for steak!

I also don't like me meat to look like meat. Although I'm not afraid of the fat in chicken skin, I hate having to strip if off the chicken, or cut it up myself. (Actually, the idea of eating it even cooked grosses me out). And I always want my meat well cooked.
