I am new to primal and really wanted a cheat, I just finished baking these cookies, tonight with suggestions from others (like adding butter and using maple syrup). They are wonderful. Next time I would like to try 2 tbs of honey and coconut oil and flakes. My first primal cookies. yum.

Thanks for the recipe! I want to make these, but I think I'll add some dark chocolate chunks.

Just made these and they are awesome!!!!! Next time I'll remember to put cocoa in. I doubled the recipe and they only made 14 cookies so I messed up some where but usually happens.

SOOO needed this recipe! Tweaked a bit of course for GrokToddler. Gotta add CHOKK! (That's how he says chocolate.... he's only 2.99 yrs old!!! (Birfdai June 25)) This would be awesome for him!

So, the new recipe I'm giving a shot today is this:

              Best Primal Cookies

              1 1/4 cup Almond Flour/Meal
              1 T Butter
              1 T Coconut Oil
              1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
              1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
              1 large Egg
2 T Sweetener of Choice (Stevia or Honey or Maple Syrup, etc)
              1/4 cup Chopped Pecans
              2 T Cocoa Powder

Stir ALL ingredients together until smooth.

Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto a really well buttered/greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart from each other and lightly press down. They really like to stick to the pan, so use parchment paper or a silpat if you have it. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until desired doneness. Allow to cool before removing from pan.

I'll come back and report my turn out.

I just made these exactly as the original recipe. They are delicious! They make me think of a snickerdoodle, or a little like Dad's Scotch Cookies.

Now that I know how they taste, I will tweak a little because I actually like crunchy cookies and have had a hard time finding crunchy cookies that are also primal.

These cookies look so good that I thought perhaps I should bump the thread.
I have not tried them yet, as I am first "re-setting" my tastes by avoiding all sweets and desserts for several weeks, but this is going to be one of the first things I try when I am ready. Thanks for the recipes and variations.

I just baked these and had one about 5 minutes ago. All i can say is, WOW!! love the texture...very light and cake like and the outside is a little crisp. I added some 100% Ghirardelli chocolate to the recipe. I got 9 medium size cookies from the recipe.
