  • Need ideas for nighttime meal/snack...

ok so I have been doing this chocolate pudding snack but its getting old:

    Pumpkin Puree
    Avocado
    Navitas Cacao Powder
    Coconut butter
    Navitas Cacao Nibs (on top)
    Walnuts (some times)

its not tasting as good as when I first made it - could be the pumpkin puree is over powering the other ingredients - not sure (different batch perhaps) I use Libby's from Costco.

Looking for ideas for similar ingredients, keeping low carb options (veggie source) with proteins and fats of course.

I though about cottage cheese (not really primal) but not sure.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried other types of squash? Butternut is one of my favorites and would probably work very well as a replacement.

Also, you could always buy pumpkins and cook several in the oven at once, then save the pulp in the freezer. Personally, I really prefer fresh pumpkin to canned pumpkin, I find canned pumpkin just has this weird taste and texture to it.

You're looking for something that specifically has cocoa in it? A sweet(ish) snack?

I quite enjoy this 'cocao custard' Chocolate Banana Coconut Custard | fastPaleo ... Although eating too much of it makes me feel sick (so: make the recipe, eat about half, as opposed to trying to eat it all in one go...)

not sweet no, not at all - in fact I don't want any fruit like banana in it - just proteins and slower carbs like the pumpkin, etc

I love cacao so I would like to incorporate it in plus its great for you (fiber, etc)

            Try avocado, gelatin with cocoa.

What purpose does this snack serve? Are you hungry at the same time every night? Maybe eat more dinner and you won't be hungry for a snack. Or eat leftovers.

Icecream of blended frozen berries and cream/coconut cream. Maybe sprinkled with some flaked almonds or grated chocolate.

Baked custard of eggs and whole milk with vanilla and nutmeg.

Chocolate dipped strawberries or grapes and some quality cheese or ham cubes?

How about some yogurt with resistant starch.

Have you considered a hard boiled or fried egg? I do that all the time.

Looks good although I think I would sub the oil out for an avocado
