how do i use coconut oil on the stove top without it smoking?

    Trader Joe's coconut oil is not high-quality. Nutiva's is better. Like others suggested, change the oil or lower cooking temp.

      This discussion confuses me. I thought we use coconut oil because of the high smoke point

      so if you wanted to follow Jamie Oliver's way to cook steak (best way IMHO) and cook it at the highest temp, what are you meant to do?

          Redundant, but use refined coconut oil for higher heat cooking. I also use a coconut oil/ghee blend from Green Pastures that is INCREDIBLE.
