  • Primal cookbook for kids

I was just looking through the recipes e-book that I got and it has some great recipes, especially love the coconut book with the pumpkin and sweet recipes. Was thinking it would be great for the fall and better options for my daughter.

My next thought was I would LOVE to see them come out with an exclusive cookbook of primal recipes for kids. It's one thing for us to eat primal but getting little ones to partake is a huge challenge. The one thing I've noticed is our daughter naturally gravitates to what we consume. We start drinking more water, she asks for water. We start eating more fruit & veggies and she asks for fruit mostly!! She is definitely not primal but she's not eating the typical kids crackers as much. She prefers yogurt and granola bars.

Does anyone have a great kid-friendly granola bar recipe that their kids like? She's not crazy about raisins.

It gets easier. My daughter likes cocoa-coconut Larabars. It's dates, coconut manna and cocoa powder if you have a food processor.

Wonder if the bars would work with prunes too? My daughter loves Ones prunes and this helps keep her regular.

Eat Like a Dinosaur is a paleo, kid-centered book. They even name the foods in such a way to make them attractive to kids, and the steps that are kid-friendly in each recipe are labeled!

I LOVE "How to Eat Like a Dinosaur"!!! If you don't want to buy the book you can check out their website, some of their recipes are posted there. Their frozen waffles are AWWWWWWESOME (and the recipe is now on the site for free), I think its my kiddo's fav.

Nope, I buy them because I do not have a powerful enough grinder, like a food processor. I only have Magic Bullet and Stand Mixer. I would make them myself if I had it. Coconut manna is also called creamed coconut. It is good on its own too.

Also "coconut butter". I'm currently on a Nikki's Coconut Butter kick-- especially the macadamia nut one!

Eat Like a Dinosaur's recipes are just okay. Cute book though! Like most of the paleo cook books we own, there are a couple in ELaD that we keep going back to.

I was going to mention "Eat Like A Dinosaur"...the average review on amazon is 4.8 out of 5 stars. You can check out the table of contents and index for some idea of the recipes, and the author's website has some sample recipes, so you can figure out if it has the kind of recipes that you're looking for before you spend money on it. I haven't tried it, but I've heard good things about it.

(If you end up getting it you should post a review on the forums!)
