Mick, yes, butter on a steak. When I occasionally overcook (burn?) the surface, butter helps salve the wound.

Otherwise, salt and pepper only. All else is blasphemy. Well, I even went sans salt last time.....sigh.

BTW, for all you temperate clime BBQ'ers, apple wood is the best, the very best wood for smoking. And did you know that the lowly, common, littering crab apple is the same wood? It is, and it is the best! On a recent road trip from FL back to Colorado I replenished my supply.

I don't think I've ever had buttery steak, but it sounds fantastic.

      My favorites:

-cinnamon-coated apples cooked in bacon fat or with pork

      -buttery broccoli or green beans

-sunnyside up eggs (i.e. runny yolks) and broccoli

And one of my pre-primal favorites was Nutella on, well, anything...I should try making a primal(ish) version of Nutella.

I think I might've just discovered a new blissful pairing. I was sitting at my desk at work with a bowl with 2 tablespoons of sunflower seed butter just snacking away when I remembered I had some Turkey Jerky in my desk.

At first I was going to eat them separately but then I thought it might be a discovery in the making, so I dipped my jerky into butter. OMG!!! It tastes out of this world. Some co-workers of mine saw me doing that and immediately go disgusted. One even asked if I was pregnant.

If you get a chance, definitely try that one

I made fajita this morning. In lieu of tortillas, I used thin omelettes. Yummy!

Nice aged blue cheese crumbles on avocado (and a splash of lime).

Og, goat cheese and pecans or walnuts do taste excellent together!

When I used to live in Ukraine that was one of my favorite spreads Ė goat cheese with minced garlic and walnuts. You could spread it over a piece of bread or just eat it plain. Very good. I also like to make Greek Salad variations by using goat cheese and walnuts in it.

The other day I discovered not-so-primal pairing which sent me flying after the first couple of sips. I made a milk shake with a cup of raw organic milk, half of frozen banana, and a cup of sour cherries. OMG! It didnít require any additional sweeteners but it was very sweet naturally, and the flavor was out of this world. Because the raw milk naturally has a higher fat content it was easier to turn the shake into a fluffy cloud of goodness.

                              Blueberries in coconut milk.

Baked spaghetti squash with coconut milk and toasted nuts. YUMMY! Fresh basil makes a good addition, too.

Liver & onions - never thought I'd say that

                                Wild salmon with herb butter

Eggs with a side of collards

                                Blueberries with anything

                                Ditto with cherries
