  • White Chili with Ground Turkey - No Beans!

I found a great recipe for turkey chili and tweaked it to make it primal. It seems like an odd combination of spices but it is really, really good. You could substitute chopped chicken for the turkey if you would like. I hope you like this one!

    White Chili with Ground Turkey

1 1/2 pounds ground turkey (I used ground turkey thighs)
    1 onion, chopped
    3 cloves of garlic, minced
2 four ounce cans chopped green chili peppers
    1 tablespoon ground cumin
    1 tablespoon dried oregano
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    ground cayenne pepper to taste
    ground white pepper to taste
3 cups organic chicken broth (or more if you prefer a thinner consistency)
    2 cups monterey jack cheese
    Almond flour, optional

In a large pot over medium heat, combine the onion, garlic and ground turkey and saute for 10 minutes, or until turkey is well browned. Add the chile peppers, cumin, oregano, cinnamon, cayenne pepper to taste and white pepper to taste and saute for 5 more minutes.

Add the chicken broth. Stir in the jack cheese.

At this point, you can determine if you want to thicken the chili. If so, you can mix a paste of almond flour and water, and add it to the chili; or you can stir some almond flour in until it reaches the consistency you like.

    Simmer for 10 minutes.

If desired, serve with additional shredded jack cheese on top along with avocado and sour cream.
