  • Favorite Primal Dessert Recipes

Hey fellow members, I thought this would be a good time to share some of our favorite healthy Primal desserts!

Let's see how many delicious recipes we can get on this thread!

One of my favorites is my Paleo Coconut bon bons!

    1 cup Shredded Unsweetened Coconut
    1/4 cup Agave Sweetener
1/2 heaped teaspoon Vanilla Extract (Optional)
    2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
    1/8 teaspoon Salt
    Directions

    Step 1
Combine all ingredients into food processor and pulse until well blended.

    Note

You can omit the vanilla extract for a strict paleo approach.

You can also use honey instead of agave as a sweetener.

You could also go with a less strict approach and dip them in dark chocolate!

Chocolate yogurt. 1/4 c. yogurt, 2-3 T coconut oil, 1/2-1 T cocoa, 1 t raw honey, splash of vanilla. I generally eat this daily. My drug of choice used to be Oreos; somehow this meets the rich chocolate and creamy sweet need, and if the honey's nice and crystalized and the oil's firm and mixes with the whey, it has the same chocolatey crunch as an Oreo. Nom.

Frozen black cherries... put them in your mouth.

And that's why I'm here eating HFLC Primal/Paleo.

Blueberries and strawberries! The best. When I want to be totally decadent I whip some hwc and add a bit of 90% chocolate shaved on top. That's a once a month dessert. My nightly dessert is a handful of one or the other.

If I was going to add extra sweetener (which I find I don't need at all since going PB since everything tastes sweet now anyway!) I would use medjool dates. It's a whole food, and ridiculously sweet. Medjool dates, berries, a frozen banana and some cocoa powder was my go to dessert when I was raw, and it's filling and satisfying.

This one I found through Pinterest for mousse/frosting...
            Chocolate Frosting Shots!

I tried it for the first time the other day and it's so scrummy! I used honey to sweeten.

I also have a recipe I created for spicy raisin cookies on one of my blogs, which turned out pretty well :P
