  • Alligator Tail

My family got a small package of alligator tail from our neighbor's hunting trip. It had already been 'cubed/flattened'.

I marinated this for about 7 hours in ACV and minced garlic.

Then I coated it in coconut oil, then coated it in a mixure of:

    Coconut flour
    Dessicated coconut
    Italian Seasoning
    Oregano
    Ground ginger
    Celtic Sea salt
    Ground Pepper
    Poppy Seeds

Baked at 350 for 20ish minutes

'Twas pretty good! Though I think frying it in coconut oil would be better.

I hope the images are approved soon so y'all can see what it looked like...

Yes, it did pretty much taste like chicken! It was a fun experience, though, since I don't eat much in the way of meats besides beef, chicken, and pork.

The poor wee fella probably was cute. But oh well, my tummy liked him. (:

I've tried alligator meat, don't know what part of the beast it was from. This was pre-primal, so we made gator-dillas (quesadillas with gator meat). It smells fishy, kind of feels fishy, but definitely tastes like chicken.

I had alligator cooked cajun "blackened " style on top of a caesar salad in New Orleans. Very tasty. It's like chicken texture-wise but it almost has a fishy taste.
