  • morning sickness cures, please?

I am so sick. I used to rely on crackers and they helped, but I need primal options. Ginger ale made me sick

When I was pg, I found that Egyptian Licorice tea (my husband called it my "hippie tea") really helped any time I started to feel queasy. I also ate ginger chews by the Ginger People - they are rolled in a bit of sugar, though

4 of these chase away my toughest nausea symptoms:
Organic Crystallized Ginger - Crystallized Ginger

herbal tea is excellent for nausea as well, peppermint in particular

19 and 16 years ago when I was pregnant, I used to sip cold apricot nectar. Gross, I know, but I think it is both Primal and Paleo and IT WORKED EVERYTIME.

Not primal, but, uh... sprite? When I was pregnant with Grace, sprite & ginger snaps always cured me. I still get a diet cranberry limeade from sonic when my stomach is super rotten. It's rare, but it helps.

This is a weird one, but I remembered reading it somewhere, tried it, and it worked for me: a shot of apple cider vinegar. It isn't the most pleasant going down, but during the worst of my morning sickness, it settled my stomach immediately. Like I said, weird. Now if only I could have found a cure for the fatigue.
A non-primal version that I have also relied on is salt-and-vinegar chips. Just get some good quality ones, and eat only as many as you need.

I second the cottage cheese suggestion and yogurt if you tolerate dairy. creamy foods in general like custard.

Someone else suggested salt & vinegar chips - I also used potato chips to settle my stomach. Just a small serving would do it, then I'd be ok to eat something more nutritious. I eventually made my own - just thin potatoes in coconut or olive oil with salt. Then follow with a small meal of meat & veggies or whatever.

I went out and bought some yogurt (and ginger slices, and orange sorbet, and mouthwash) this morning. Eating the yogurt now and OMG WHY IS MY YOGURT SO BITTER? T_T

Anyway. I'll tough it out. Thanks all. Feeling shaky and vulnerable after being up all night puking. :P

I had all-day sickness for the first 5.5 months and it was miserable. White rice mixed with yogurt helped a lot. Actually, that was one of the few things I could keep down.

The rice/yogurt mixture is actually is a common, everyday meal for the majority in Southern India. I grew up eating it quite regularly. Google curd rice.

I would suggest using WHATEVER works for you, whether it be crackers or rice or something else non primal. It doesn't do yours or the behbehs body any good if you are sick all day.

Plus, it can take a minimum of 2 crackers to settle your tummies. I'd toss it in to the 20 side of the 80/20.

                          My other suggestions:

Sprite Zero or ginger ale mixed with a bit of natural juice (apple or orange is good)
Try to find some ginger CAPSULES.

If the nausea is super bad and nothing else is working, go to your OB/GYN and ask for low dose Phenergan or Zofran. I had to take low doses of these once in a while when I was losing weight during my pregnancy from not being able to hold food down.

Good Luck and CONGRATS!!!! :::tooting horn:::

Gluten's out. Hashimoto's. I'm not keen on making it worse during my pregnancy.

I may look into rice crackers, though. Something to suck on. Ugh.
