  • Green Tea Chicken and Chai Tea Biscuits

Dr. Bork Bork and I decided we were going to tink with each others recipes and see what goodies we could create. Start with an idea from Dr. Bork and you know your gonna have it going on! Here is the first in the line of "tinks".

Though changed, it is inspired by her fabulous TEA CRUSTED CHICKEN <---linked to Dr. Bork's orig. recipe.

The chicken rocked and the tea biscuits taste like dessert. NO CHEAT btw. Seriously, they taste like they have sugar or honey in them - but there is no sugar, sweetener, or sweetener substitute of any kind in the biscuits/muffins. WOOT.

I gotta start jotting down what equipment I need to buy in order to make such treats of culinary creativity, love it, thanks.

Another great looking recipe. I now know what I'm going to be having for dinner tomorrow. I just made a batch of dried blueberries in my food dehydrator (Which is really coming in super handy btw) so I may use those in the biscuits instead of raisins. I'm looking forward to trying it out.

                  Chicken and tea biscuit.jpg

Turned out great! Thanks for the recipe.

Minor adjustments, used dried blueberries instead of raisins and made six slightly larger biscuits in jumbo muffin tins (took about 25 minutes that way).

Any idea with what to do with the chicken/green tea stock would be appreciated. Seems like it would be a great base for a vegetable dish but I have no flair for such things.

                  Thanks again.

Waiting to see your pic, it is still pending as I type this. Soooo...I'm dying to know, would you use blueberries again? That sounds good to me. Recommend?

I freeze my extra stock in 1 cup rubbermaid plastic containers and use them for future soups and stews. It works well for us. I guess you could also measure out a cup and pour into a ziploc bag and freeze too

Not a great pic, (Cheap camera) and I flipped the biscuit over so the blueberries would be visible.

The biscuits tasted great though as did the chicken. The blueberries were quite good, but I might actually experiment with some other flavors next time. I was thinking of adding some broken up pieces of dark chocolate on my next attempt. Time will tell.

I've been making up and freezing various vegetable casseroles for the last few hours to deal with an unexpectedly large CSA package, and I wound up adding the stock to one of those.

Green tea helps in burn fat and boosts metabolism,
                        The recent study reported that
3 5 cups of green tea per day can help you burn more than 70 calories per day,
which amounts to 7 pounds per year...

Actually most teas have health benefits of one form or another, and while I doubt Grok drank a lot of tea, I bet he ate his fair share of leaves.
