  • It tastes like CAKE..REAL cake!!!

    Chocolate Paleo Cake!

I'm so psyched...I'll just tell you what I said on my blog post where this recipe is featured.

But the short of it is chocolate paleo fudge cake...1T honey only 1T- no loads of dates...no 1/3c or 1/2c honey...etc etc.......and it well...here's what I posted:

I don't remember where I picked up this recipe, so if it is yours, send me the link so I can link to you and give you a million "thank you's!!"

Ladies and gentlemen, this TASTES like cake, FEELS like cake, SMELLS like cake, has the CONSISTENCY of cake.....not "paleo cake", but CAKE!! Moist...spongy...MMM!! Yes, I'm a bit excited.

I made this without the chocolate chips, so except for the Tablespoon of honey and few drops of Stevia it was "unsweetened". This is delicious. Incredible. The whole family went gaga. I am in heaven. Hea-VEN!!

The photograph you'll see below, is also not mine. It is the dear person's to whom I owe a debt of gratitude for this recipe!

I was excited too until I saw the almond meal part.

i believe in freedom of speech and all so i wont get into the anger that these posts rile up in me ..

but if you want cake eat CAKE ..

coconut flour, almond flour, applesauce (assuming its not home made), stevia .. there is a crap load of shit in this that most of us wont eat .. i REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLY wish people would stop trying to promote their blogs and instead get back to helpful info ... there could be a strong argument that fake flours are worse for you than the real deal, they break down incredibly fast and are basically rancid before they hit store level ..

Simple fact: You can't take other people's recipes/photographs without permission. The creator owns the copyright.
Using someone's information without permission is STEALING: Copyright violation.

I suppose you don't know this, else you wouldn't admit you did it.
And what joy do YOU get out of posting other people's work?
How about just a link to the original work rather than stealing the information for your webpage.

It's not difficult to see where you stole it from:

No, I didn't know, but I'm glad you found the link as I will add the link on my blog as well as take the photo down. I've made it twice and keep forgetting to photograph. I posted it because the recipe is soooo good! I couldn't wait to share it with the community I love.

I try to feature recipes from other blogs once a week. I've always informed them, used my own photos and gave them a link back.

I can't think of a time they were not pleased to have their recipe featured. This was one time I just could not remember where I picked up the recipe. I had printed it out a while back. No blog on the paper. No link on the paper. Found the electronic copy in word doc. That is where photo came from. Finding and making it was like finding buried treasure. If you saw on my blog post, I asked my readers if they knew the link so I could feature it and linkback.
Thank you for informing me. Photo down. Links up. No need to be hateful or assume the worst.

That's why they have the 80/20 rule. I rarely eat cake, if at all. I'd like to have a real cake (Then again, what is a real cake, with all sorts of crap into those, too, much worse than what else is added). But, gluten wreaks havoc on my skin. I'm down with coconut flour/almond flour, on that rare day I decide to have a treat. This, or I just get squares of dark chocolate/ice cream.

                This.

I don't mind others offering rebuke, but it doesn't have to be disrespectful. Otherwise, the intention behind such loses its effectiveness, falling on deaf ears, not even keeping it in mind for later down the road.

Yes. Some of us can't just "eat CAKE" without being chained to a toilet and wanting to die for a few days afterward. Eating grain-filled cake turns my children into evil banshees, but they still want a birthday cake. Almond flour and coconut flour are a much less harmful alternative for us. I only do have it once or twice a month- for social occasions usually.

Which is fine. But, as I was talking to my friend who's been doing this for almost three years, he talked about mood, grumpiness. Now, I'm not saying you're grumpy, or whatever. However, there is a point where one is simply sweating the wrong small stuff. It can lead to unhealthy side effects, as much as diet alone can.

I can't do flour/grains either (except almond and coconut). My dh and youngest son are celiac soooo we are very careful around here and have a GF house. I do like to make cakes on special occasions - and we don't "cheat" with sugar or gluten or tons of dates or lots of honey. This was a good "non cheat" "cheat".

                          WTF...

                          A. There are some very traditional cakes and cookies, around for a very long time (literally CENTURIES), made from almond flour... and other alternative flours. These flours and the treats made from them are not really NEW. BTW... thos are "real" cakes and cookies. Not fake...

                          B. Some people cannot eat gluten, at all. Thus the need for a cake made with something other than wheat flour sometimes. Personal preference and all too... Just because YOU don't like it, doesn't mean other people feel the same way.

                          C. This is the recipe section of the forum, it is specifically for RECIPES, not "helpful info"... if you don't like a recipe, simply move on... your rant reeks of the ridiculous. Assuming everyone has the same desires and needs as you where their diet is concerned is incredibly self centered.

D... And this is my gripe... that damned cake has leavening in it so I couldn't eat it if I wanted to. And I would if I could!

Touchdown Todd: I'm not here to plug my blog...I'd post it in all the forums if I was as well as expand it to cover more topics. I blog paleo recipes. Some health. I don't post the links to the health entries here. I post food. Good food. I like to share with other paleo friends that like good eats. It is redundant to try to recreate the blog post on a thread here - as well as it would be a bit of a pain to be honest. It is easier to give a link to the recipe of something I think people will enjoy. As far as liking paleo blogs and the paleo community - guilty. I find other people's blogs more interesting than my own though. I already know what I have to say. lol

if you don't like the coconut/almond flour "abominations" don't read dessert recipes that might contain them. In fact, don't read dessert recipes, because they seem to upset you for some reason.
I'd throw you a grass fed steak, but I'm not sure I want to feed the troll.
