  • Sweet Potato Smoothie?

I made some sweet potatoes today and I had an idea of making a smoothie with some of it.

    Has anyone tried this?

Yep! And holy mother of god is it delicious.

I add pumpkin pie spice, vanilla protein powder and coconut milk to mine.

Hmm, I don't know if I have any pumpkin pie spice. I'll have to look for that.

I don't do the protein powder any more. I might try adding an egg yolk to mine. I'm pretty good at separating eggs now.

Sweet potato, frozen berries, vanilla protein, coconut water. Creamy goodness.

Ah okay, thanks. I couldn't find anything in the store labelled pumpkin spice, although I do have a pumpkin spice tea.

I'll have to give this a try. I'm assuming equal amounts of each spice?

Lately I've been making a smoothie of pumpkin puree, frozen banana, cocoa powder, whey protein, skim or whole milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Just swap out the pumpkin for sweet potato.

Yum! I've made pumpkin smoothies before - I imagine it would be similar.

Bringing up an old thread. I just did this. I boiled some sweet potatoes (cooled them down of course before the smoothie), added coconut milk drink, some cinnamon, some egg white protein and some molasses. Blended with some ice for a delicious smoothie. This was really, really good.

has anyone tried using sweet potato for a frozen concoction?

I normally do this for a frozen delight - frozen banana, avocado, almond milk, whey protein in my Vitamix

Perhaps I could swap out the banana for the potato?

Might be good. Freeze sweet potato chunks and blend them up.

Found my new favorite late night snack:

                          Frozen avocado
                          Pumpkin purée
                          Coconut butter
                          Almond milk
                          Crushed macadamia nuts
                          Scoop of chocolate casein powder

                          Vitamix it and voila!
