  • Leangains - Low Fat Recipes

Anyone else practise the Leangains approach? I find a carb refeed on workout days quite beneficial, so I've been following Martin's protocol for a while now. The problem is, on refeed days I usually end up eating the same thing - sweet potatoes, spinach and some lean meat for the main meal. I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for low fat and delicious (is one even possible without the other?) recipes for variation's sake!

What do people think of Leangains by the way? Anyone else try it? Just wondering if Primal people had any success with it!

    Grok on!

Hmm... oyako-don (Japanese chicken and egg over rice). You can do a search; some of the recipes aren't gluten-free, but can be made so.
How about pumpkin or sweet potato pie? Oven baked potato fries are good too. You can make chicken burgers with them.

Check out ChocoTaco's food porn thread - he does carb refeeds, and he posts some of his dishes. The latest was cornbread

There are several of us here that follow the Leangains approach, and several who don't care for it. You'll get a kick out of this thread currently in progress:

For my carb refeed days, I mix and match the following primal choices:

Pretty lean protein: Lean cuts of steak (trimmed), ground beef, ground buffalo, pork tenderloin
Ultra lean protein: Canned tuna, canned clams
Clean carbs: Sweet potato, white potato, berries, low-fructose fruit (banana etc.)
Low cal supplements: Green vegetables, lemons, limes
In moderation: Sardines, eggs, kefir, moderate-fructose fruit (apples etc.)

I will have shrimp and white rice PWO sometimes, just to mix it up a bit. I make an orange sauce using honey, fresh orange juice and siracha sauce and mix that in after its all cooked up.
People too weak to follow their own dreams will always try to discourage others.

Any combination of potatoes or white rice + lean protein + pico de gallo and/or homemade aji.

I'm amazed at how I can literally eat the same shit all the time and always love it. I'm boiling some yukon gold potatoes tonight to have dry-mashed and ready for some tuna or some shit later this week. If I didn't hate to make hard boiled eggs, the white would be nice to have on hand, but then I'd be all =/ about the yolks....
I used to seriously post here, now I prefer to troll.
