  • Recipe For Disaster

So I've learned a lot in the 8-9 months I've been primal. I know I like Primal junk food (who doesn't?) and have a baking problem (doing LOTS better after this last round of Whole 30. Haven't had a binge in 2 months). However, I do get the occasional negative comment on my Pregnant Diabetic blog that I don't eat Primal or Paleo. I eat junk food. I also got paged on this recipe forum recently when someone mentioned desserts. It got me to thinking.
Would there be interest for a new blog by me called The Primal Junk Foodie? It would be blatantly honest and loaded with food porn. It would show both the good and dark sides of the Primal food world.
What do you think? Recipe For Disaster? Or fabulous food find?

I know this is a weird place to put a question like this, sorry if I made you roll your eyes.

OH! One more thing. I'm thinking this new blog would be a prime place to do give aways (especially of local foods. We have some pretty awesome one's here in Utah)

Can I just say, you look about 20 years younger than in your old photo. Can we do a side by side compare?

And no thanks to the primal junk food, but don't let me stop you.

What was my old photo? I change it so often, I can't keep track, lol.
      Here's me in 09: (248 lbs)

      Here's me a year later: (169 lbs)

About 80 lbs difference. Look, COLLARBONES!

I always enjoy primal blogs with lots of food porn. I think there's definitely a niche, especially if the recipes really are primal-friendly with minimal cheating and employ novel use of ingredients.

Like I said, this would cover both the good and dark sides of Primal (whole, delicious, nourishing foods, as well as cheats). It's a no limit food porn blog... but it also discloses the good Primal has done me.
I've decided to go ahead with it. I'm writing my "story" now of how I went from out of control diabetic to drug free.

I'd read it. One of my favorite food blogs is All Day I Dream About Food. I started following her blog in my Atkins days. She does a lot of low carb and gluten free recipes, as well as "normal", for lack of better word, recipes for people not necessarily following any particular diet.

To be honest I am torn about primal cheats and I loved baking. Maybe once a month or special occasions are okay. But a blog that shows that for these special occasions primal makes the grade in its own right is a nice idea.

Those pictures wow! What a fabulous achievement. Is everyone in Orem, UT primal now? They should be following you off a cliff.

Recipe for Disaster would be a very catchy title for a food blog. I honestly like the idea of primal "junk foods" being the basis of a blog. We're all going to have times when we need a dessert recipe so this would be a great way to go about it. BTW, you went from looking totally legal(40-something) to looking barely legal. Keep it up DBB!

thanks, but both of these pictures were taken pre-Primal.

I swear, I'm trying! I tell all my girlfriends at playgroup how excited I am to lose weight and eat fat. I love my chewy bacon, avocados, and EVOO. Their skin crawls and they shudder. They're not ready yet. Maybe if I could get them in the gym with me & show them the power I have and how easy I whip out sprints on the treadmill, they might listen

The blog is called The Primal Junk Foodie (although I will post a recipe section, and maybe I will call it RECIPES FOR DISASTER) hahaha

I'd read it. I think making the lifestyle as livable as possible is great, and there will be times someone just wants a cake or something as close to cake as they can get.

I definitely like to have a little primal junk food from time to time, and I am always looking for new ideas. I like this blog idea a lot. I will be keeping an eye on it.
