  • Halloween Recipes?

Looking for some good Halloween recipes...I was thinking choco covered sausages? any other ideas?

Do you want themes based on color or foods that are "scary" looking? You can set jello in straws and they come out looking disgustingly like worms (especially if you put a little cream into the liquid jello).

Also, one of my favorites, is making meatloaf into the shape of a hand with onion slices for finger nails. It was a hit at my dinner party.

I also made deviled eggs with cut up olives for spider legs and I had primal pizza with slices of mozzarella cheese cheese to make it looks like a zombie (with olive eyes).

There are lots of recipes out there if you look around!

My Halloween will NOT be complete without having at least one pumpkin chocolate chip cookie (and some egg nog). If someone can hook me up with a low carb Primal version of that, we'll be in business!

I haven't tested them myself but...Healthy Indulgences: Holiday Indulgences: Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

p.s. there may be some minor substitutions you'll want to make but overall it looks like it would be easily workable.

Okay to keep this thread alive anyway...

I saw a cute idea recently for bloody-eyed devilled eggs. Make deviled eggs maybe with a guac mixture in the middle so the eyes look dead & add streaks of red food coloring (or something more primal...dunno what though) to make the "eyes" look bloodshot.

Beet juice? Not sure what it would do to the taste but it would give the red coloring.

Hot sauce would be a good alternative! Or make precise lines with paprika.

Baby if you time travel back far enough you can avoid that work because the dust won't be there. You're too pretty to be working that hard.

I think there's a thread here regarding pumpkin recipes that would also be a good reference.

Hard boil and peel three eggs. Make a meatloaf, forming 1/2 for the bottom, laying the eggs end to end, and then forming the top. When you slice the loaf, they look like eyeballs.
Pipe mashed potatoes into ghost shapes.
