  • Where do you guys buy your coconut milk?

I can't find it anywhere. The only thing I have found is "Coconut Milk" creamer in a milk carton. But I seen you guys post it comes in cans. I've tried Ralphs, Trader Joes, Full'O life and I just can't find it. Am I just looking in the wrong places? Thanks!

Get out of the dairy aisle. My coconut milk is canned and I typically find it in the thai section next to curry paste etc. I think you might also be able to find it in a hispanic/mexican section as well.

There's a "Vallarta" grocceries store near my house. Think they'll have it?

Coconut milk is canned and typically in the asian foods section of your supermarket. Trader Joes only carries a light variety which is actually fairly tasty although watered down. Trader Joes keeps their coconut milk near the sauces and marinades. It is a bright green can. Trader Joes also carries a coconut milk beverage which is really just watered down coconut milk. I actually love this stuff because I have a harder time with full fat coconut milk unless I use it in a curry. I can't drink it or make smoothies with it, just too much for my digestive system, but the beverage I can drink plain and the light I can make smoothies out of.

The best coconut milk is Whole Food's 365 brand. It runs about 1.89 a can and is well worth the price. If you buy 10 you get a percentage off. The full fat 365 is delightfully creamy and when mixed and refrigerated it turns into a wonderful coconut cream. I use the 365 brand for cooking and occassionally a little over fruit.

Some stores have canned coconut milk in the Jamaican or Indian sections too. Think ethnic! Asian grocery stores might be a source too.

                organic roofing FTW!

on topic: make sure you get the coconut milk with the least amount of ingredients. It shouldn't be more than 2 (guar gum, which I don't always avoid) also seconding 365 from Whole Foods and also Native Forest brand. Both are very yummy and way better than Thai Kitchen.

I gotta re-up my coconut milk, actually.
I used to seriously post here, now I prefer to troll.

Sometimes it's in the 'import' or Asian aisles. Over here it's as common as real milk.

I have a subscription with amazon. 12 cans of delicious Native Forest for $21/mo. The 12 cans easily last me the entire month.

I buy the Aroy-D brand in the cartons, from importfood.com : All Natural Coconut Milk from Thailand, Available Online at ImportFood.com

I usually order on a Friday and the boxes are on my porch Monday or Tuesday. The stuff tastes really great and we don't have a problem using up a box within a day or two after we open one.

This time around I ordered the straight coconut cream (which is the same price) because their coconut milk is a little thinner than I like.

Trader Joe's unless I'm planning to whip it. Then I buy the $3+ stuff from the ethnic grocery.
