  • Favorite uses of ground beef?

    Hey everyone,

It's that time of the year when the family's running out of all the yummy steaks from that half a cow we bought last year, but we still have tons of roasts, which I can easily do something awesome with, and tons of ground beef. Patties and Primal Chili can get a bit repetitive, so what are your favorite uses for your ground beef?

Meatballs for sure... No breadcrumbs, just awesome meat

Cuban Picadillo over spaghetti squash with fried egg on top. Let me know if you need a recipe.

This is from my Cuban wife's head so rough estimates

Brown 2lbs ground beef with chopped onion and bell pepper (optional), drain
Add 2 small cans tomato sauce
        1/4 cup red wine (optional)
        tsp garlic powder
tsp oregano (or more to taste)
1/2 tsp cumin (or more to taste)
1/2 cup chopped olives (Manzanilla/pimento stuffed)
raisins (yes raisins) to taste 1/4 - 1/2 cup
        salt and pepper to taste
        simmer 20 mins

Traditionally served over white rice but I substitute shredded cabbage or spaghetti squash.

        Fried egg on top!

Ripe plantains fried in coconut oil is perfect side dish

        I use leftovers for omelettes

Meatballs. Meatloaf. Stir fry. Beef sausage. I'm about to try ground beef jerky for the first time too.

Meatloaf makes me happy, w/primal ketchup.

Lettuce leaf tacos. Taco salad. Meatloaf. Meatballs. I've never tried Meatza, but that would use a bunch of ground beef.

Lasagna - using slices of aubergine (is this eggplant?!) instead of pasta. Also curried minced beef is Keema - delicious.

Yep. That's eggplant. Sounds a bit like a moussaka. Especially if you pour a cream sauce over the top before you bake it.

Southwestern meatloaf. If you can find an all natural Mexican salsa in a jar you can use that or make your own. Mix meat with 1 egg/lb plus salsa and roll the whole thing in some almond meal (forms a crust and keeps the juices in while cooking).
