    Pork Rinds.

Seriously where the hell have I been on these things....

Other than breadcrumbs (love that idea) what else can we do with these delicious crunchy bits of goodness.

ohhhh... i was looking for a good breadcrumb idea for chicken cutlets. Might have to try that.

I'm also looking for a vehicle for guacomole and hummus. Not together... separately.

Hehe, yeah, i used pork rinds as "tempura" in a home made California roll with crab claw meat and it was delish, and I also used them with coconut flour to bread calves liver and i while it turned out pretty good I really just like chicken liver best.

I eat them when DH is eating doritos ... but why don't they have fake 'zesty cheese' flavoured pork rinds? Hmm... maybe because I'd eat the whole bag!!!

My mother-in-law gave me pork rinds in my Easter basket. I had never had them before, but I think I've found my new favorite snack.

I haven't tried them, but appreciate the recommendation. Do y'all make your pork rinds or do you buy them?

I'm sad that I live in a land where the only pork rinds available are baken-ets. *pout*

I just use them to dip stuff for the most part. Salsa, guacamole, egg salad, tuna salad, "hummus" made from cashews.
I have used them as breadcrumbs and that's good too.

That's all I've ever heard of doing with them. =]

Buy. They sell them in the Latin American food aisle at my grocery store, the Goya brand. I'm pretty sure those are literally the only ones available in my city. A large part of our population is vegan hippie health nuts and CW skinny college chicks, who would flip out at the very mention of pork rinds. =]

Lol there should be a primal singles hub somewhere lol. Then again watching vegan/veggies eyes bulge out is pretty darn funny.

Despite hating cooking late i made myself some "Aubergine caviar" (i went a bit heavy on the olive oil). Oh my goodness is that fantastic with pork rinds.

The east oting for chicken isparmesan cheese, the cheapo stuff out of a can. Dip chicken in eggs then cheese, then saute or fry. Yum.

What sort of oil are pork rinds cooked in? Anyone have an idea?

Lard. Pork skin has plenty of its own fat. I've yet to see a bag of plain pork rinds with any ingredients other than pork skin and salt. If they're fried in vegetable oils it'll list which ones in the ingredients.

I've been doing the pork rinds and salsa thing for months. It really is awesome. One thing I love doing is taking a can of salmon or mackerel, mashing it up with spicy salsa, olive oil, and cilantro and then scooping the mixture up with pork rinds and chowing down. Also good with dijon mustard and OO instead of salsa and OO, as well as with avocado.

Basically, anything that tastes good on a chip or tortilla will taste even better on a pork rind.

^^Good. I am going to get some pork rinds today. I just need something crunchy. LOL

I guess the flavored ones are out because I am sure the seasoning will have some nasty chemical ingredients.
