  • Does anyone have a peanut chicken recipe?

Im addicted to the Peanut Chicken at my local china buffet. It looks like its just baked chicken coated in finely ground peanuts and peanut butter. Though in reality its probably loaded with sugar and MSG. Anyhoo, do any of you have any good non-spicy peanut chicken recipes? I dont smoke, I rarely drink but peanut chicken has its grip on my life!

You could do something similar with almond butter. You know peanuts are not considered primal, right?

I've made an Asian "peanut" sauce with tamari and almond butter that was great - I would play around with that and see what you come up with.

Yes I know about peanuts. I have a fresh unopened jar of almond butter waiting to be used. Typically I only use PB/Almond butter for quick calories when needed. Almond butter makes me sooo thirsty

That's weird. I wonder why it makes you thirsty?

I occasionally make a sauce for chicken and broccoli that is made up of real peanut butter (chunky is best!), mixed with tamari, water, and red pepper flakes to take. Heat it all up unti it's combined and thick, then pour of your chicken.

I would think that cashews would be a better substitute for flavour than almonds.

Try this recipe & throw in some cashews for crunch:

I think you're right - I made satay sauce the other day with cashews instead of peanuts and it was perfect. Almonds just don't have the right flavour for that kind of thing, imo.
