  • Must. Get. Food Processor.

I can't chop nuts (lol) in my blender or mini magic bullet... among other things. Soo I've come to the realization that I need a food processor. Recommendations? My budget is limited, so what's a good tradeoff between price and quality?

I bought a Ninja and it's pretty badass. Makes nut butters like nobodies business.

Ninja Master Prep Professional - Bed Bath & Beyond

It's cheap and looks weird, but it works really really well for me at least.

For big batches, the Cusinart is master; for smaller jobs I have a Oster chopper that works well. The Oster blender has a great chopper attachment, so you get two in one. If you don't have a blender (one of my favorite gadgets), I would go for that and get the chopper. That's what I had for years, then I gave that to my son when I got a heavy duty Vitamix blender. That's my 45 years in the kitchen advice.

I have this one: Amazon.com: Cuisinart DLC-2009CHB Prep 9 9-Cup Food Processor, Brushed Stainless: Home & Garden A bit pricey but a workhorse. If it fits your budget it's a good one.

Macy's will do this one for $99 in store every 6 weeks or so: Cuisinart DLC-8S Food Processor, 11-Cup Pro Custom - Food Processors Electrics - Kitchen - Macy's built like a brick outhouse. I've had cheaper ones but the motors burn out sooner rather than later.

Darn, maybe I should have gotten the Ninja when it was on sale at Khols last week. I already have a magic bullet, and a food processor, so I passed. Maybe it would have been worth it now that I see all the great reviews. Oh well.

I have a KitchenAid, but if I had it to do over again I'd get a Cuisinart--the feeder is bigger. I find that if I want to use the slicer or shredder, I have to cut the veggies or cheese into smaller pieces before I can fit it into the KitchenAid.

I may just have to head on down there.....I've been wanting one for a while but didn't think I'd be able to spend less than 100 bucks AND find something decent!

Has anyone seen these at Sam's Club?

I had never heard of bedbathandbeyond but it sounds like the service you would receive in a very expensive hospital carried out by buxom swedish ladies. I would definitely sign up for that medical insurance

I need a new one.... but only after we move and have a "real" kitchen where I can use it.

Currently we own a Black & Decker model (full size)... it's horrible... worst $30 ever spent! =(
