  • Can I use the brine remaining in a pickle jar to pickle my own vegetables?

I have a jar of Bubbie's pickles and I also have a big bag of carrots that I don't feel like eating. Can I just cut them up and dump them in the jar full of brine and wait for some pickled carrots?

I don't know about that particular brand, but I like to slice cucumbers into my kosher pickle brine and eat them after they soak for a few days. Sometimes I live on the edge and do that a 2nd time; I haven't died yet.

Bubbies is live culture so I don't see why not. Just make sure they are cleaned well or peeled.

That is such an awesome idea, I've played around with pickling and so far I've only successfully made pickled ginger. I'll have to try using Bubbies brine.

I save all my pickle juice, and stuff hard-boiled eggs in there! What a yummy snack!

It takes about 2-3 weeks for the eggs to get good and pickled.
