  • Quick and Easty Cookbook - Shipping

Has anyone received the new book yet? I ordered the day it was announced and it was supposed to ship last week.
I didn't bother creating an account when I ordered, so I can't track it.

I'll take the complete lack of response to mean I had either inadvertently written my post in another language or that nobody is interested.

    I received the book today.

Happy to comment on it - that is, if anyone is interested.

Aw, is someone feeling unloved? ;-)

First chance I've had all day to check out mda, haven't received mine yet, but I'm overseas so will take a bit longer I guess.
What are your thoughts so far?

Huh. I thought it wasn't coming out until the 25th. Guess I should check my mail...

If you ordered it from Amazon you won't get in untill after the 25th. I think the only people who got it early got it from Mark's website.

I'm still waiting for mine. I ordered off Mark's website, but I'm in Canada, so it will take longer I assume.

Well yes, as a matter of fact - 30 some views and nobody had commented at all. Now that I actually have the book....I'm Mr. Freakin' Popular - haha.

Anyway - I checked through the new book thoroughly last night and I think I like it even better than the first. Each recipe has a nutrition chart showing fats, carbs and proteins etc, which is pretty cool. The recipes look even better than the PBC (Primal Blueprint Cookbook). This time it's divided up into mealtimes - i.e. breakfast recipes, lunch recipes, etc. As far as the 30 minute meal preps - a suggestion to set aside some time each week to cut/prep veggies for the week ahead. I think if that's done, each of these could easily be 30 minutes. But... the same could be said for the PBC. Has anyone done the cabbage and sausage recipe in the PBC? That one takes no more than 10 minutes prep - total. Also like the first, these recipes seem to lend themselves well to experimenting and adjusting wildly according to your own tastes. There's a whole section on sauces and another on rubs. I'm looking forward to getting into it!

                  Nice work, Mark and Jennifer!

Package arrived today, no new cookbook, just the original one (which I ordered at the same time). I hope the other one is on its way.

My only real complaint about the PBC is that the binding was pretty poor. The binding separated and many of the pages have come unglued. And then - mlw placed the opened book on a hot burner so the whole book looks like it's been through hell and back. I've had cookbooks for years that don't look so bad. Of course many of those haven't been used as much.

That's how you know it's been USED and LOVED. A friend of mine has a copy of the Joy of Cooking that has been left on a burner, spilled on, folded over...you KNOW he loves that book.

If you can find an old Joy of Cooking (before the low-fat thing hit), it's a pretty good primal cooking resource. The baking stuff is right out, but a lot of the meat recipes are pretty handy and full of tasty fat.

Haven't gotten mine yet. The website says it's been shipped, but didn't give a shipping date. They must've put it on a boat and sent it around South America....
