  • Best primal salad dressing?

    I eat salad every single day pretty much and want to experiment with new dressings. Right now I do organic extra virgin olive oil and Braggs apple cider vinegar exclusively. I am getting pretty bored with this combo and was hoping someone had some new exciting combos for me!

    TIA!

    Try this one. I have been eating it for years.

    Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing Recipe - Allrecipes.com

    It keeps for a very long time and it doesn't need to be refrigerated. I am also looking for new salad dressing recipes since I have been eating this one for so long. I just ordered avacato oil so hopefully I can make something good with that.

      I made this without the honey. Really tasty I thought - and it reminded me of the taste of BBQ potato chips, if you like them

      Ingredients

      * 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
      * 1/3 cup honey
      * 1 tablespoon stone-ground mustard
      * 1 tablespoon lime juice
      * 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
      * 3/4 teaspoon salt
      * 1 1/4 teaspoons smoked paprika
      * 1 clove garlic
      * 2 tablespoons chopped onion
      * 1/4 teaspoon oregano
      * 1 pinch white sugar (optional)
      * 1/2 cup olive oil

      Directions

      1. Blend the red wine vinegar, honey, mustard, lime juice, pepper, salt, paprika, garlic, onion, oregano, and sugar together in a blender until thoroughly mixed. Drizzle the olive oil into the mixture while blending on low. Chill at least 1 hour before serving.

        Best salad dressing? Meat.

          Hot sauce, (fatty cultured) sour cream, and mushed avocado. All over a green salad with a meat, its like a taco.

          These are my regular "toppings" but they are so rich and spread-y, I just omit the "dressing."

            Here's my favorite.

            1/2 cup of good olive oil
            couple cloves of garlic with the germ removed
            couple dashes of Balsamic Vinegar
            Frozen Organic Raspberries (about a 1/2 of cup thawed)
            Fresh Thyme (couple pinches)
            Sea Salt/Ground pepper to taste

            Put it all in a food processor or blender and let it go.

            I use 4 tablespoons on a head of romaine lettuce, with turkey, bacon, and peppers, for my lunch BAS.

            Takes about five minutes to make all.

            I store the remaining dressing in the refer for use each day.

              In the PB cookbook, there's a "creamy" dressing meant for roasted cauliflower - but it's delicious on everything!

              Just whisk together:
              1T dijon mustard
              1T olive oil
              2T lemon juice
              1/3 c coconut milk

                Bacon fat. Melted coconut oil. Those are my favorites, especially when I cook shrimp in them!

                  Oh, yes. Another good and super simple one: melted ghee/butter.

                      I've been using an avocado and small clementine tossed into a blender and blended till smooth. On a huge salad its great, a little high on the sugar from the clementine, but amazingly delicious.

                          I've been mashing up salsa and avocado lately and using that on my salad. Awesome with pulled pork.

                            Extra virgin olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and sea salt is really yummy to me. Refreshing and easy.

                              I LOVE my big ass salade everyday! Couple times here at work, I've been asked if I'm really going to eat all of that (I'm 4' 11'') - heh, you betcha!!

                              Here's a link to an old post with some good dressing recipes - 10 Delicious DIY Salad Dressings | Mark's Daily Apple

                              I copied/pasted the entire post into a word doc so I could save it and also printed it for my recipes folder.
