  • Macadamia nuts - where do you buy them?

No macadamia nuts to be found in my neck of the woods so I'm heading online. What sites are recommended for purchasing macadamias?

I found macadamia nuts at whole foods about 6 to 7 bucks for a lil carton of them.

Amazon has the same Costco ones (from Mauna Loa, 24oz cans even). They are salted and roasted.

I get the raw ones at WF, too. If I want to roast and flavor them I can do them in good oils. I did a batch in ghee with curry seasonings the other day. They were awesome.

I can get them unsalted (Thank goodness!) for $13/lb in my Wegmans bulk aisle. I'm always a little concerned about the freshness of stuff in that area but they seemed quite crispy. The Mauna Loa stuff is available at BJs for $9/lb (ish? can't remember) but it's so heavily salted...blegh.

OK, this is probably not very helpful at this point, but last week I ordered 2lbs raw macadamias for 14.99 + 5.99 shipping on Amazon (from JR Mushrooms & Specialties), but I just went to the link and looks like the price jumped to $28! It seemed like a crazy deal when I saw it, typo, maybe? Glad I got in on it, they should be delivered tonight.

i always buy mine (raw, halves) from WF's--normally $13.99/lb i think... i don't mind unsalted roasted ones but i prefer raw.
