  • Quick Primal Meals

    Hey Guys!

I was sitting at work yesterday thinking I had nothing left to eat at home and I needed to go to the grocery store, then remembered I had chicken breast and avocado...so I looked online for chicken/avocado recipes and found/customized a really simple and delicious primal meal last night so just wanted to share.

1 organic chicken breast pan fried in Coconut Oil, rubbed with ground black pepper, a pinch of chili powder, and a pinch of cumin

    Topping:

    1 avocado

1 or 2 squirts of fresh squeezed lime juice

    Some chopped raw onion

    1/2 a raw tomato, chopped

a pinch of sea salt and black pepper

Mix all topping ingredients together, put over chicken breast, and voila! A quick and flavorful primal meal, took about 15 minutes total, with tons of room for customization.

Anyone have any other suggestions for time-limited folks such as myself?

I've been making this Primal Hamburger Casserole a lot lately. Takes about 10 minutes. http://inthenightlife.blogspot.com/2...casserole.html

Nice blog, @BarbeyGirl! I'm going to have to make that hamburger casserole when my meat fast is over.

I've been doing a ground beef curry that maba wrote about--just onion browned in coconut oil with curry, garam masala, and ginger, add ground beef (and I add chopped tomatoes and a package of spinach). Fast, easy, and tasty--sometimes I top it with a dollop of yogurt.

(maba, forgive me if I've totally destroyed the original curry recipe!!)

@Catalina (and maba!): I think I love you. I made something similar to what you listed for dinner tonight, and it came out great! I added pine nuts for crunch, but they soaked up some of the oil and almost tasted like corn kernels. Om nom NOM. My husband loved it too. Thank you for this suggestion!

Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.

Lamb burger. Ground lamb, not cheap, $6.50/lb at Publix, but OTOH, no bones. So for lamb, it comes out OK. Plus it's grass fed and presumably no hormones or other crapola.
